One of our great singer/songwriters. But this is sure hard to watch ... Thankfully he worked his way through most of his demons and is still out there writing and performing. Unfortunately, we DID lose the V-Roys. A terrific band.

I love the sound of the Madelyn need to visit my grandma and hear her play. Ngl miss when my family use to get together to play music on the porch at family gatherings.

I lived in Knoxville and got to see the V-Roys many many times, they were great. When I first went and saw them they were called the Viceroys but had to change their name

I've loved this song since I first got the 2 CD set of "Goin' South" for Christmas years ago, and I must say, out of all the live versions of this song I've listened to on RU-vid, besides Travis Tritt's excellent cover, this is probably the best I've heard! While I miss the bagpipe intro, I love the mandolin intro!

Wow -- I never got to see the V-roys back Steve on this when they toured together. I think it was only a UK tour, except for Farm Aid and a spot on Late Night with Conan. Incredibly rocking!

I saw him on live on SBS "Rockwiz" show that was broadcast from the 2014 Byron Bay Blues Festival. He has a lot less hair and is still chubby but the song still sounded great!
