Great song! Great musicians, great vocal! Great feeling! Amazing to see Steve Harris doing something different among decades of Iron Maiden! Well I don’t know if he had already done something different but this is the first time I see🤙🤘🏽🤟🏽👍🙌🏻✌🏼👏🏼👏🏼Enjoyed a lot! What if Iron Maiden played different styles sometimes! Just like this one! Imagine Bruce singing this 😮wouldn’t be nice too?… I believe so. 😅Long live British Lion! Long love Steve Harris! Long love Rock’n’Roll! Long love Heavy Metal!🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽Yeah!!!!
People these days expect always the same... if you see "Steve Harris" on the title you expect heavy metal, etc etc... But no, a musician has a lot of ideas, a lot of stuff in its head, and yes, it's a risk to show all of them to the world because most of the people have closed minds. This is a good song actually, it's something different. If this was something like Iron Maiden sound people were complaining that it'd be a copy, who understands the world these days? good song.
Yep yuh dead rightjust like KKs priest is the album that judas priest hasn't put out yet! At least Steve Harris's and Adrian Smith's solo albums sound nothing like maiden.
Its funny to see how many people dont like this considering the fact that to me this sounds like a raw recording without tons of compression, autotune and brickwalling, sorry kids this is what it sounds like!
I've been going round in circles History reveals its echoes Do you show a little kindness I can see only blindness I've been searching for salvation I can taste this desperation Hide away this face in shame Come on take me as I am Come on and save me Come on and free me Come on and heal me 'Cause this is my God I've found my God This is my love... my love You are the calm I am the war Sleeping beauty on my bed There's a whisper from the life force And the season's running scared Come on and save me Come on and free me Come on and touch me 'Cause this is my God I've found my God You are my love... my love Blessed are the children That are raised among killers The making of an Einstein The making of a Hitler Can you hear me For I'm only bleeding Come on and save me Come on and free me Come on and touch me 'Cause this is my God I've found my God You are my love... my love See me... hear me... Touch me... love me... ˏ⸉ˋ‿̩͙‿̩̩̽‿̩͙‿̩̥̩‿̩̩̽‿̩͙‿̩͙‿̩̩̽‿̩͙‿̩͙‿̩̩̽‿̩͙‿̩̥̩‿̩̩̽‿̩͙‘⸊ˎ
THIS IS THE TOY OF STEVE HARRIS, YEARS AGO I HAD NOT HEARD ANYTHING SO DAMNABLE, WITHOUT SOUL, THAT DOES NOT EVAKE ANYTHING, THIS ONE WAS DEAD AND I HOPE THAT IT ENDED SOON ... NO MORE TORTURE TO MY EARS. ANY GARBAGE HAS MORE SOUL THAN THIS. YOU DO NOT DIE NEVER BRUCE DICKINSON AND YOUR GREAT DISKS. FULL OF PASSION, EXCELLENT LYRICS AS THE BLAZE DISKS. DEATH TO THIS PIECE OF ESCREMENT !!!
NEWS: Saw and heard them a week ago in August in Wacken W:O:A 2017 for the very first time and their performance blew me (and most of the others) away. Because of the clear sound and the amazing vocals. Go to their shows and spot the difference. The sound on the records which I heard afterwards for the first time confused me very much. That kind of reduced (I 'd rather say numb) sound is nothing in comparance with the majestic live shows. Definitely. I heard many bands for the first time but this one reached my TOP 10 from the very first moment. True.
It may not come across here, but I just got back from seeing them live tonight, having not even known about this before last week. THEY FUCKING ROCKED. Tight sound, clean sound and great presence. Put your Maiden bias aside and go see them.
Last band I saw live before the Pandemic shut everything down in NYC. Got to meet Steve and the rest of the band. Signatures all around. They were so good.....brought tears to my eyes. True gentlemen, as always.
I woke up this morning with the singing/chorus of this song rattling in my head and wondered what it was.. Then it came to me - Steve Harris.. I have to say, I really like the singing and the song, especially the chorus, is actually pretty enjoyable. And that's what it's all about.. So, people, stop trying to think you know everything or complaining it's not Iron Maiden.. Isn't that the whole point - that it's NOT Iron Maiden? No marks out of 10 here. Just going to replay it again..
What do you people expect? If you've worked at McDonald's flipping burgers for 35 years, would you want to go home and cook hamburgers for fun? I applaud Steve for his solo effort. While its not exactly my favorite, I bought the album, have listened a few times, and will continue to enjoy the album in the future.
this is Steve's side project before returning to tour with Maiden, he isnt going solo... And for what it's worth , I think the vocalist here suits the style of music...
Technically speaking he sings well enough, but most of all, he sings with attitude and passion...it's the most important thing in rock!! Steve Harris/British Lion rules!! and his musicians too!!!!!!
I know people keep knocking the singer but when I saw these guys live, he was excellent. He cut through the music and had a really nice quality. It is seriously Steve's producing and I've been noticing it for a while even on Maiden albums, Bruces voice is pushed back in the mix. It's a shame
None of their studio recordings do British Lion justice. Seeing them live is a completely different experience, they’re brilliant live and don’t be fooled by the vocals here, Live, his voice is killer! I just wish the power of his voice and the music came across stronger in the studio
kind of reminds me of how Sound Garden transitioned over to Audioslave with different members and never really grew one me knowing Cornell was a great singer
ive nothing to say but thanks Steve, Iron maiden is part of my life ! all I am today and all I know started from Iron maiden !! cheers buddy and this song is just amazing!!
I play bass and people cheer more at me than the guitarists. If you actually can't listen to bass, especially on this song or any song that Steve's playing, I would think that you have ear drum issues and I strongly suggested you visited the doctor. As about your second topic at which you mention that bass is an "easy" instrument I'd ask you try performing Iron Maiden songs as Steve Harris does. The difficulty of the instrument depends on what the player demands from it.
I like it...as far as the vocal complaints go...this guy has a softer approach...so if people want a f.......g kick ass vocal...well you will just have to call/email me...I would love to shred vocals on this....Steve contact me please...thanks
this is fuckin awesome and a breath of fresh air compared to the same rubbish being put out by many who have run out of ideas ........ judas priest ring a bell ??
I still like this, a fine video, I believe shot in Canada?? A place I have to see, the wide open spaces. What wrong with Harris trying something different, were you all expecting galloping bass lines with operatic vocals? I think I was at first but realised the main man wanted to do something normal!
josh kullin Thanks Josh, nothing wrong with a rough round the edges rock song! Followed Maiden for over 30 years, and it good to hear something different. The lead singer is rough, and along with the rest of the band they will not set the world alight, but for me a fine rock track! All I can say is well done Harris "Up the Irons".
Dang, This was REALLY close to being amazing. Song writing and good soulful musicianship is there, but something about that singer just seems out of place. He's really good and all, but it just seems he wasn't "right" for this project I guess.
I like this a lot and I get the video - brilliant. This is my first listen of all Steve's solo stuff. I like it, but I'd rather with Maiden would have taken this turn instead of that long-ass metal-folk-music crap they've been doing for too many years. Short, brilliant, expressive & to the point, but still expressive (ala P.O.M.). In retrospect, P.O.M. was really a high point in its own way. I'll still take this over anything Maiden did in the last 20+yrs. Good on ya, Steve! Thank you!
