Steve was one of the first guitarists to embrace the Roland GR-500 guitar synthesizer that had recently been produced back then. It's what's giving the guitar it's distinctive sound on Palm Trees.
I had all the Steve Hillage albums in the 70s as a teen. One hear of his sound and I was hooked and had to have them all. I'm still hooked in 2017. I got the original pressing of Green which was on, appropriately, clear green vinyl. Very cool to a teenager.
There was I, listening to Steve Hillage, looking at 'Visions' art-book, never wanting to come down... Motivation Radio, Green, Live Herald, Rainbow Dome Musick... Wow, that was an amazing elevated time.

I found this album when I was younger at a record fair guy wanted a few quid for it thought sod it I’ll take a punt on it took it home rolled a spliff put the record on had a smoke and drifted into another world I was absolutely smitten with the album and remains one of my favorites to this day I also love osric tentacles but I got into them after I heard this

I've been 'addicteded' to Green ever since I first heard it in '78. I mentioned it to Ed Wynne gt.ist in Ozriks and he said the same thing. This was, of course, many years ago so I don't know if it still holds true for Ed but I will always love that album.
Steve's 'Green' album cover came from the late John Michel's idea of a Vesca Pisces, John went onto create the 'Cereologist' Journal devoted to Crop Circles, one of the best Journal's about the mysterious subject, In'lakesh John and Steve.
