My dad strangled me when I was 4. I've been unable to properly relax since then. It's taken me years to finally be able to talk about it without feeling ashamed or like it was my fault. I was afraid of him. I was afraid of standing up to him. He was tall. He was terrifying. He was a monster, in my eyes, evil. I think he's changed now but the scars are still there. This song reminds me to keep speaking up and using my voice.
