This is hilarious, insightful and just really awesome Dan. Thanks for doing and uploading it. It won't happen but it'd be nice to see you & Keith anchor one last 11PM Sportscenter one day. Maybe this yr in honor of your 30th. A guest one-off? Haha :)
I caught it live. I was half zoned out when it happened. Did perk up when I heard it of course. What I've never heard before was the New York come through that great baritone voice. Obviously he's a pro. Had no idea Steve is a New York guy. Great name btw, I think you should stick with it.
I remember watching this in real time.My friend and I looked at each other with a " did we just hear what we heard?" We purposely watched the next episode of SC to see if they would run it again, but they didnt. When Keith Olbermann came on screen to report another sports story he was STILL in tears trying to report whatever he was reporting I think he even had his glasses off and wiping his eyes. You could hear ppl laughing in the background. Thanks for the memories Steve.
I miss that classic 90s espn. Sports and sports only. No political nonsense, just a good escape. I remember going to sleep and waking up at 2-3am with sports center on replay just something comforting about it lol
Totally agree...similar to MTV in the 80s being only music videos. Three best anchors for SC had to be Dan, Rich, and Stu. Never did get a good vibe with Berman though.
No man deserves punishment for a mistake. Unless you emphatically use the word "dick" on national TV. Glad that feed wasn't edited. Bloopers are just as entertaining as correct coverage. Steve is the man.
oh man huge opening there for DP when SL began the oral history & asked him if he had a good excuse for taking the night off.....I think we all know what the correct comeback for that question was :)
