Live At The Greek Theatre In Los Angeles, August 7, 2014. Michael McDonald Contributed Backing Vocals On The Original Recording Of The Song In The 1980s And Also Appeared In The Toto Music Video For The Hit Single. The Sweet Serenade Love Song, "I'll Be Over You," Was Written By Steve Lukather And Went To The Top Of American Song Charts In 1986.

Simply put Michael McDonald might but the most underrated musician ever. The man can do it all. What a talent for us to enjoy since 70’s.

Rich G MMD & I share the same little hometown outside of St. Louis. Try to imagine what it was like having the same choir teacher that MMD had just a decade earlier. It was pretty much impossible to live up to those standards.

I went to jr high and high-school with Steve. He was a friend. I would go to his garage and hear him play. This is before he got with 2 brothers down the street. Then i hear he's in the band Toto! He was a nice mellow kind of guy. If he were to read this he would remember me as the girl who was throwing up over the small balcony when he tried to feel me out 😅 We both drank to much. I tried to see him in San Diego in 1980. Im so happy for my friend Steve, he loved playing his quitar 😊

Great performance of a Toto-classic. And with Michael McDonald it sounds even more authentic because he sang the backing vocals on the studio version. Shannon Forrest is doing a great job on drums really GROOVY. This might be one of his earliest gigs with Toto.

My dad recognized Michael's voice the first time he heard this song. To think, if only he could have shown up with Toto in Reno back in 2018. A way to make an amazing experience for my dad and I even greater.

I was like 11 when this song came out and grew up with Michael McDonald/yacht rock stuff--once you know his voice, you know. Picked it out when I first heard it, and thought he joined Toto after his solo career!

I love how Luke rarely, if ever plays the outro solo to this song the exact same way. It’s different pretty much every time! Also, I love that Michael is just a regular, down-to-earth guy who just so happens to be extraordinarily talented! ❤

Ironically, he's playing the bass part that Mike Porcaro recorded! And Mike did the opposite for most of Toto's hits when he was in the band. Wish I saw this live, I caught them in 2017 also at the Greek Theatre in L.A. so I missed this by only 3 years.

steve lukather was pretty clean on here his voice has got husky in later years just age.thats not to say he's a bad singer he always been brilliant. and toto playing tight as usual. you cannot mistake michael mcdonald its the voice he has.

I first heard this song when my 1st husband left us. My baby was 9 month old by that time. He is now 21, has a great job despite of everything we went through. Why all these explanations? Well, each time I hear this song I cry and I can't help it....

I just found this. This makes me cry happy tears. But also makes me think back, well what I can remember anyway. It's crazy how I can't remember a lot bc I have seizures, (and I'm getting old) but music I can remember. Things I did with music surrounding. Just wow. I always loved this song, and Toto and Michael McDonald. I was a kid and the first time I heard this I was like, that's Michael McDonald and made this song even better. So I'm glad I found this.
