Your mom also knew the lyrics of the song Steve Miller was saying lord bring the revolution and he says fly to the revolution!!!! It still mandatory message for today
I feel that my mom passed 3/20/21 this the first cassette tape I ever had because of her. She thought I was talking about this version instead of the space jam version god rest her sole 😂😂😂😂
i want to feed little baby and feed the homless ..listening to fly like a eagle its so. true the words back then.. are for this generation today...we are in great distress 2017!!!!!!! we need to start praying end times!!!!
@@MarkMettler Me too! We had the absolute best music...from this, Steve M, to Creedence, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Abba (yes Abba), Linda Ronstadt, Supertramp, ZZ Top, Donna Summer, Led Zeppelin, The Sweet, Queen, Genesis, John Lee Hooker, Bee Gees, Tim Buckley, ACDC, George Michael, Thin Lizzy, Sade, Bublé, Tom Jones, Stevie Nicks, Van Morrison, Blondie, Eurythmics, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Simple Minds, U2....and that's just a few in my very eclectic collection. Right up to the fabulous Rag'nBone Man's incredible debut album Human. Kids today have no effing idea of what real music is..!! Cheers from a music loving, bodacious, Aussie/Greek, ex-librarian wench. 🇦🇺🍸🍸💙
People tell me the same thing but it's lies. All lies. They even go so far as to dye their hair grey and make their faces all wrinkly, but I'm not buyin it. 18 has just been a reeeeeally long year.... Even Johnny Depp is in on it apparently. The guy never ages but have you seen him lately? Now he suddenly ages? Yeah right. So fake. lol
@@Doumbeck the present always carries the past with it. Into a perpetual unknown- the future. This moment IS all that exists, but this moment expands infinitely in multiple directions. This moment is so vast.
One of my earliest memories is my dad rocking me in a rocking chair with this song spinning on his record player. I’m so glad my subconscious decided to hold on to that one, it’s so precious to me!!
My mother passed away in 2020 and she used to play this song for me and my big brother when we were kids..today I just remembered this song..! I love this!
Just the right length.. remember most iconic songs are recorded jam sessions that lasted for months 🥶😂 they only had under 4 minutes to record then naturally, of course, had to hurry back to time machine . .. or be stuck in the 70’s forever . I’m glad they made it .
That song was stuck in my head too, and it took me a while to find it, as I didn't remember enough of the melody to hum it accurately to soundhound, nor the correct lyrics, all I really knew was bits and pieces and that it was rock music (till I remember a word or two from that song, and that happened to be part of the title, I found it quick once I realized eagle was likely said in it) xD
@@Liliputian07 Read the news lately? The world 🌎 is getting very 70's, like the gas crisis and recession and protests and political upheavals. This song 🎵 IS ahead of it's time... and time is catching up to it. The baby formula shortage came to my mind as well.
heard this song after visiting a thomas edison and Nikolai tesla museum as a child, and for some reason im stuck with memories of the museum whenever i hear this song
Oh man I have this exact thing but it's The Lovin Spoonful - Summer in the City and the images are downtown Sacramento, especially that weird horse sculpture that looked like it was made of chrome foil. I know someone else remembers it because an artist in that area commissioned a bunch of chrome horses to be in various spots. The original used to be in front of a bank on either J street or Capitol avenue, I can't remember.
You ain't lieing about that, can't slip into the future ,Time keep on slipping into the future ,I can't afford to slip either way I best watch my steps carefully,
This song was so amazing. I first heard it when I was like 3 when MJ walked into the gym on Space Jam and being a musician it made so much of an impact on my life. This song just feels like it’s living. So much soul and atmosphere, it’s almost indescribable.
My husband passed away last Saturday. I can't believe he's gone. He had great taste in music and this was one of his favorites. I wish I could play it when they scatter his ashes on the beach and on the elk grounds. Fly high and Rest in Peace baby.
kyle busch yesterday sing this song in the middle of the race ran halfway through the race with the gear locked in 4 gear left the end of the pack on Stage 3 saved gas and won the race with all these problems kkkkkkk in my opinion his biggest victory in his career is simply fantastic and kyle busch show
Asuka what are you doing here you need to appear in Neon Genesis Evangelion Can You Not 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time (made for American Release) released on August 13, 2021 on Amazon Prime
***** My mother was a fan of The Doors, so I heard a lot of them too! Led Zeppelin is another band she loves. They are my favorite band now as well. My mom always had the hots for Jimmy. Lol.
+EmeraldFlowsion62 how interesting, ill have to look up some of the older songs. To me it seemed like these people really took time when making their music but now in todays world most people dont give a shit. They dont care if it has meaning as long as it sounds good they are happy which is ridiculous. Its not talent its garbage
Another masterclass from Steve. It's dreamily hypnotic and a cogent measure of his musical genius of course. Love the way he created the fundamental vibe on a little keyboard from a Five a Dime apparently. Thank you Steve xx
Crazy one year later and the first comment is exactly whats going on with me, my dad passed away yesterday and I know that he is flying high with the eagles over the sea. I love you Dad
Eagles were the mascot of my elementary school, and every friday, the principal would play this song over the intercom before making the weekly announcements. I remember she would turn the volume up and down along with the music like she was a dj or something. Listening to this song brings back a lot of memories.
There we go.. I'm 52 and my father 74. He asked me to record this song. We are both suckers for blues and good music. Would not know what to do without him. Love my father for ever.
I remember hearing this just ONE time when I was 8 or 9 years old with my grandpa driving and my cousin in the passenger seat, me in the back. Man, childhood was a much more simple and happy time. Or was it? I'm 28 so that was 20 years ago though, maybe my life is just getting started for all I know.
One of the greatest rock songs during the greatest decade of music. I knew even at the time that was blessed to have come of age in the 70s with music like this. I was right!
As a 2000s kid, Mindhunter brought me to this and introduced me to Miller’s music. Seeing John Mayer perform with Steve a week ago only made me dive into his music more. Honestly sounds so good. I can see it even being reinvigorated into the public conscience through a tasty hip-hop/rap sample. Would give anything to have had MF DOOM interpolate this into a song. Just a totally killer riff and amazingly timeless production.
I am now 62 years and when we were young and could hear this music we thought we were immortal and when I hear this music I still have the same feeling! We smoked some good pot at this time. My god where is this fantastic time. Greetings from Linz/Australia-☝️Europe! 🇦🇹
Hip-Hop heads know that this is a crucial track. It's been sampled too many times to count, even if it's just little pieces used as embellishments on tracks. Everybody and their mother has touched this. Such an amazing song.
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future I wanna fly like an eagle To the sea Fly like an eagle Let my spirit carry me I want to fly like an eagle 'Till I'm free Oh, Lord, through the revolution Feed the babies Who don't have enough to eat Shoe the children With no shoes on their feet House the people Livin' in the street Oh, oh, there's a solution I want to fly like an eagle To the sea Fly like an eagle Let my spirit carry me I want to fly like an eagle 'Till I'm free Fly through the revolution Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future I want to fly like an eagle To the sea Fly like an eagle Let my spirit carry me I want to fly like an eagle 'Till I'm free Fly through the revolution Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future
My math teacher had playlist of this song and songs like steely dans do it again in my freshman year of highschool he would play it through the classrooms speaker I didn’t pass but man it was a nice place to rest after smoking with my friends thanks mr aldana 🦅
We all know good music as a black man. That was one of my favorite songhost and really, it's all about the leric's. To understand that time keeps on slipping into the future. And the spirit that's in all of us is really before it's time. Thank you steve miller
God this song.... it's so relevant it hurts... time changes so fast that you sometimes miss things that could have happened and it's amazing... so much has transpired... and it still isn't over... time is inevitable... but damn it hits hard... may we all be lucky enough to see a way out of the desolation... fly we will... into the future...
The crazy thing is time really is always slipping into the future man. My mom loved the Steve Miller Band and so now when I miss her I listen to a couple songs I love how this somg randomly popped into my head and has been stuck there for weeks
