So it's late Saturday night, just got home from and I've been listening to this mix over and over for about the last hour and half (which is not the first time i've done that), but it is the first time I'm going to bother to sign in so I can leave this comment: This remix is ABSOLUTELY MAAARRRVELOUS! As a long time music lover (DJ) I really appreciate the work that was done in making this, the thoughtfulness, and attention to detail. This is one remix where I would love to sit down with the remixer in the studio and see how this thing is recorded and mixed. It's FRIGGIN' MAGNIFICENT!!! And thank you for it!!!
I’ve either liked or commented on your statement before. The deeper I get into this song the more I appreciate your note. How the f did they get this effect from public ally available stuff. A masterclass! NB your write very well., whoever you are in the cosmos. Do you have stuff I might read? If so please DM me!
@@macgraham4810 I chatted with Soundhog on FB. He got the stems, then spent several months rearranging the whole song. He pumped up the symbols and the bass line/drums, but said he did not add anything to the song.
This remix is absolutely mind-blowing. Too keep the original intact & enhance the original drumming by bringing it front & center where it belongs is stellar. Excellent Remix! I can’t say enough about it!
I heard a track from Miller’s latest release that was recorded in like 72-73 that was the forerunner of this song. It’s told from the eyes of an American Indian who desperately wants to leave his reservation. The song was put on hold because at the time there was a lot of bad things going on at reservations like the incident at Wounded Knee involving Leonard Peltier,a distant cousin of mine. The song was revamped and new lyrics added and it became the song we all know and love, but the earlier version is EXCELLENT!! If you get a chance to listen to it,or know someone who has bought Steve Miller’s latest release, definitely check the track out,you won’t be disappointed!!!
I never got to see the S.Miller band in concert but wish now that I had. Whoever did this remix is very talented and Im sure it made the original artist proud . 👍✌️
Damn!!! Such a Sick mix ... A classic that was already perfection turned into modern day perfection... Great remix!! The funkyness of this song was brought out on this one....
Grew up with classi rock and as a toddler in the 90s, Space was on EVERY day. So, this, oh this version, already hits those feels just seconds in. Holy shit.
Sooooo.....you take a tune that's, like, 45 years old, and then use the latest audio equipment that's out there, and you create some really cool psychedelic rock....mmmmellloowwww....
whan music was music....oooo.thats so crule from you.i dont remember time whan i have ay music is dead.maybe with lanny kravitz was rock n roll is dead, but she didnt dead.its just evolving iin good druming way0 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,music save my life.thats all
So well Fred, what if one was to like this Flying like an Eagle by the Soundhog to a grreat extend....yet one would like to experience this musical creation in full (contrary to the limited/compressed RU-vid-experience...) and there's no commu-link to Ben Hayes whatsoever on the great internet....what could one do than.....?
Aw man, the SoundCloud link doesn't work anymore. I can't find a download link anywhere in Ben's blogspot either. Not even on hearthis. Bummer. Anybody know a link? Great mix though! I love how the drums were kicked into overdrive, especially as a drummer myself. EDIT: I just found out that fred166 awesomely linked a download as a reply to someone else's comment. A lossless file would've been ideal, instead of an mp3, but it's better than nothing.
