I'm sorry Steve but you totally fucked that song up!! I totally love that song Abracadabra, but the way you rearranged it doesn't make the song sound right at all!! I know you're tired of singing that song, but you should stick to the script!! Your guitar solo is the best part of the whole fucking song!! Damn! Why did you change it!!!???
Cant tell you how much i love this song and its live version ;) Saw it live twice as a teenager travelling in Sweden and it made an impression that will never fade away.....
I grew up on Steve Miller too. My dad has has live cd, and also his greatest hits cd. I saw him live a couple weeks ago in Milwaukee, and they were amazing, I recommend going to see them live if you haven’t yet, you won’t be disappointed.
They are playing in standard A-minor with A4=440/441Hz.. Most older male vocals who did regular A-minor songs in their youth struggle when they get past 45 years of age. The cure to this is try pitches outside standard.. Playing at scientific C4=256Hz or A4=430.54Hz,, there are no "stretching" to reach the notes as this tuning is totally natural for the voice.. THe vocal passaggios lies at the natural breaks.. G# is 415.3Hz is standard so tuning down 35-40 cents limits this streching "pull chest"- for notes..
@Scott Shingleton 2 Well 10 years later I kind of take it back. He has some cool versions of abracadabra now with some more guitar in it and it's pretty cool. Most of them are removed sadly...
you are a joke, this is very good but in each live version he changes his singing a little bit. listen to other versions and you can see he can still do it..
