Tony Parker is one of the most underappreciated PGs in the history of the league - 4x NBA Champion, 1x NBA Finals MVP, Outplaying both Duncan and LeBron in the finals, 4x ALL NBA, Also outplayed Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash + Stephen Curry in the playoffs. First ballot HOF without question. He could've started his own team and become the first option and his production would've gone up because he had the talented to score at will, but he stayed with the Spurs along with Manu/Duncan to benefit the team. That is why he is one of my all time favorite players ever and I am a Celtics fan.
Watching this makes me feel so sad. Nash, Kobe, Amare, just simply the excitement they brought to the organization and of course there're other players too but these are my favorite players. Especially Kobe. If only Nash had one another title along side Kobe and Dwight but we saw how that ended. /.\
Those old Spurs vs Suns series were intense! Those series made me hate the Spurs even more after they beat my Pistons a few years before this.. I really wanted Nash to get a ring! After watching this in its entirety.. man Nash didn’t have the takeover in him he needed that. His fade-away shots were pure... instead he’s giving the ball away to guys like Diaw or Stoudemire for clutch shots against DUNCAN🤦🏻♂️
stat and nash..such a deadly tandem. meanwhile with all this pnr marvel going on, shaqs just standing one corner and then defensively too slow to contest shots outside the paint. one of the main reason why he's always bitter over nash's mvps. he knew he was a misfit and liability in that suns team sadly.
Damn you forget how stacked some of these teams were. Suns had Shaq, Nash, and Stoudemire. That's as much of a super team as anybody today and they still never even contested for the title.
+WEEZYFANx2136 well, you could say that same thing about the heat with dwade's injuries and I personally think bosh was best in Toronto, so I consider him past his best. LeBron > Nash though, of course so I'm not saying they're equal, just comparing the two
I remember watching my Spurs facing the same tough teams year after year in the playoffs. Back then, teams would tool up specifically to address facing SAS in the postseason. As a Spurs fan, you learn to appreciate hard work, effort, and persistence. So after years of seeing SAS knock PHX out of the playoffs (in really, really gritty series!), when the Suns finally did get past the Spurs, I was genuinely a little proud of them.
I remember watching this game live and feeling sick to my stomach after Timmy hit that 3. Then Manu ripped my heart out and I just about lost it. Absolutely gut-wrenching.
Steve Nash did throw up three points shots like Stephen Curry waaaaayyyyy before Stephen Curry....throwing up ridiculous running 3 point shots and or stopping on the dime.... lol!!! The guys was just a little potent fiery ball...almost like he had irrational confidence out there... I suppose that is what Marv Albert meant when he would say "his on conscious" ....lol!!!
greatful to see both PG in their prime..and i can say that Nash is as fearful in 3 pt as steph is now..but like what u said,Steve doesnt just throw a shot..steve for me has a better PG mentality than curry..
Nash did such a great game and what did Shaq do? For real? What did he do? I didn't know he was even on the field until I saw a close up. So lazy.... :(
