Obviously it gets views and us talking. But it just puts Steve-O in and awkward defensive spot, I'm glad he's a good friend and cares about Bam. If he didn't care he wouldn't be in contact with him. Our curiosity kills us and we want to know some parts, but after seeing this conversation repeated it's not fair to Steve-O or Bam, right?

I struggle with alcohol a bit, it’s not a physical dependency as I don’t get sick or withdraw when I stop cold turkey for weeks but I could through periods where I drink every night to drown out the bs. Wish I could just ditch it for good, I know that it makes everything worse but for some reason, I still do it. Makes no sense

I feel like Bam's wife is a problem. The whole time he's been with her, his substance abuse problems have only gotten worse. She seems to be a trigger for him. Maybe, she wants him to drink himself to death so she can inherit whatever is left of his money. I always got a gold digger vibe from her. At the very least, she is the enabler that Steve-O mentioned.

Bam has blamed everyone under the sun for his shortcomings but the truth is no addict is ready to quit their drug of choice until they are damn ready for it. I would know, I was strung out on heroin for damn near 12 years. I went to countless detox programs and mental hospitals over 20 times. Bam needs to do some real soul searching and figure out what he wants out of life. I really hope he finds it. He’s got a little boy to raise.

@@muscleman125 well depending on the type of OCD he could be very detail oriented which means his OCD is more internalized than externalized meaning he over thinks and has to know precise information or it will eat away at his mind. Like for example, someone could ask someone if they wanna get lunch and that person says sure and they go. But someone with OCD will ask what time? Where at? How far is it to get there and back? Who all is going? What kind of food do they have? Do they have good restrooms in case I dont feel good from the food? How is the service there? How expensive is it? Should I take my own car or should we car pool? If we car pool are we taking your car or mine? If we take yours are you going to bring me back right away or are we gonna linger there and hangout? Are we gonna make any stops? If we take my car do you need to stop anywhere? It just spirals. And can be difficult to put a cap on it. All things considered I'd say he did well for battling with OCD. OCD,ADD,and ADHD all have very...difficult hurdles when dealing with conversations. Especially if you are an over thinker who's detail oriented. You tend to annoy the shit out of people that don't understand you are just trying to fully grasp the full situation, even if it's as simple as hanging out. It's difficult to live with, and even more difficult to understand and handle if you aren't inflicted with it but a loved one is.

With addiction the odds are severely stacked against him. Steve-o is at a sobriety outlining that the large majority of addicts unfortunately never reach. I sure hope Bam makes it out the other side.

I was addicted to pain pills for years. what helped me stop through no fault of my own (sadly) is when they quit making Lorcets and lortabs.( the old green and blue hydrocodone) those gave you a great high. the ones that are available now don't do anything. they may seem just as strong on paper but they're not. I guess they're the quaaludes of our time lol. be careful with street drugs though. I've heard that they've been lacing a lot of drugs with fentanyl causing many people to overdose. stay strong and keep up the good fight and keep supporting one another. we need it.

Did pain pills for ever 15 years. Never went to dope like all my friends. They are all dead now and im 5 years sober. Broke my leg two years ago and told the doctors i cant have pain meds. They told me sorry but you need em. I took perk 5s for the two weeks in the hospital and they never touched my pain. And i never filled a script when i got out. Im in pain everyday but any bad day clean is way better then then best day high

Most people would be surprised by how much the brain heals after becoming sober for a few years. He filled his body with so much crap and ate his brain up with more nitrous than any other person that it's a miracle he's not dead. He has no teeth. But with surgery and the will to better himself he's becoming the person he wants to be. It takes a man to right his wrongs and to do better than what people said he could do. I hope people suffering from addiction are inspired by him.

Welcome to Sober Steve lol he's been this way for 13 years now. Well, sober and growing. But he took his sobriety as seriously as he did his addiction, and being sober has allowed him to put all that effort into meaningful pursuits. Steveo is one of my all time personal heros.

For sure. That definitely has a hidden impact that is deep down and can last a lifetime if not addressed. I know from personal experience

That is part of it for sure. I think the other part is just the come down from his lifestyle. Bam was very successful in his youth, pro skater, main member of Jackass, Viva la Bam, clothing, skate lines, etc. His entire image and most of his success came form his wild antics, party hard lifestyle, doing destructive things. When that all came to an end, what was he to do? Just be a normal person? People didn't watch him for being tame and sober. I can see how ditching the lifestyle, that was the lifestyle that made you successful would be very hard. I think some of the issue isn't just Bam himself but what we all grew to expect from him. Steve O was able to shake the old lifestyle but Bam is just having a much harder time at changing. Everyone who grew up with Bam just want to see him sober and doing well but I'm not sure if he sees that yet. He might still be trying to relive better times, but you can't go back in time, it waits for no one and we all must change with the times or be washed away like Bam. Just sad honestly, hopefully he can realize that there are other things in life.

@@EggBuehl Grief has absolutely no time-scale on it, it doesn't matter whether it was ten years ago or ten days. If you don't deal with it properly and get the treatment or support you need, it can have a disastrous outcome. Each individual is different and it takes as long as it takes.
