Steve is riled up over a traffic incident and thinks the driver will come after him for revenge, so Al talks him into throwing the first punch.
From Married With Children, Season 3, Episode 15, 'The Harder They Fall'. While driving Peggy back from the video store, Steve gets cut off in traffic and Peggy gives the driver "the finger." Steve then asks the Bundys to come over to his and Marcy's house as protection because he's afraid of violent reprisal.

Steve was on the show when it was a lot more realistic. Jefferson came on when all the characters were parodies of their former selves. Like Kelly wasn't a complete idiot at the beginning and Peg wasn't completely lazy. Not that I'm complaining. I like the newer seasons.

She put herself in that situation (again, unfortunately). I was almost stabbed two months ago by a criminal who wanted my belongings. Lucky me I was capable to defend myself... Violent people who don't have any respect for another human life need to be stopped. Don't let your hate for cops cloud your judgment, it doesn't help anybody at all.

Steve > Jefferson Jefferson was funny and cool, but Steve felt like an actual person. He was the moral compass that got a little "dirty" every now and then be he also maintained himself as the foil to Al's character. Jefferson was basically Al, but as a lazy trophy husband who *always* got into Al's schemes compared to Steve who was trying to be a good working husband and a respectable neighbor. Hell when the show barely had Kelly and Bud in the first few seasons, Steve and Marcy were the secondary characters.

Yes, I liked them both a lot, but Steve was more real, Jefferson was the later more animated sitcom type of writing. I did appreciate that they brought Steve back for some later episodes.

Steve was deadpan funny and morose like eeyore combined with family guy. I agree Jefferson was too much like al and lacked depth. Al was the football hero gone to seed while steve was the snooty picket fence nerd. I wonder if steve martin would have been a good replacement as an outraged nerd.

Never thought that the world would change so much since the 90s! It’s depressing now! we desperately need shows like this again on tv and way of life to go back in some ways to the 90s! Simplicity and people weren’t offended by everything and we had pride and sense of humor! complete different worlds now!

The Steve years were the best of MWC. Jefferson was too stupid to really like, but Steve could really plumb the depths of pathetic-ness. He had all the depths of slime mold. He made Al look good.

@@edwardgaines6561 According to Steve’s own words in he claimed to attempt to beat up younger children when a child, yet was a sniveling coward, even back then. He is a hen-pecked husband because of his character weaknesses. The whole point of the Steve character was that he was pretentious and talked the talk as if he was better than Al, but when push came to shove he was always shown to be just an older version of that kid trying to beat up smaller kids and was really a sniveling coward. Something akin to slime mold is about right. For all his flaws, Al always had the dignity of a downtrodden man who tried to do the right thing, and had a childhood memory of being a genuine hero back then.

It just give me a great sense of good feeling when I do my own maintenance on my scoot scoot. Today I changed the airfilter, gear, and engine oil change. If I would let the dealership service center do it than I would've shelled out couple of hundreds of dollars. I also went above and beyond into learning how to change the cvt belt, and the break pads. I already knew how to change break pads on the regular car, but on a scoot scoot I now know how to change it with confident.

You haven't even watched the whole series by saying this stupid posting. Jefferson is so much better than Steve. Jefferson was way funnier than Steve and a much better character. Note the show got much better when Jefferson joined. Jefferson was funny in every episode, I can't say the same thing about Steve. Jefferson is far better than Steve. Just accept it!

I am not complaining about Steve because he was good but Jefferson and Griff are way funnier and they made the show even better. You are probably one of those guys who likes the original and doesn't accept when some new characters are better to than the originals, it's clear that you don't understand comedy at all.
