Coach Spurrier, Thanks for the 1991 win vs FSU. Wasn't a National Title or game of the Century but my all time favorite memory, EVER, at a Gator game with my main Gator Game Wing Man. ....my late Brother. That game was our measuring stick for Gator games.
4:13 "What number of wins quiets the critics?" Seven wins or more. Quite frankly we need more qualifiers to be specific. - Win two road games - Win four conference games - Win two out of three vs Miami, UCF, or Florida State - If applicable, win a bowl game
@@ericd7881LSU has beaten Florida 5 years in a row. What is redemption in that this year? If you’re talking about redemption from all those years since y’all beat us last in 2018 then that makes sense.
@savagetigerfbfan6673 redemption meaning anybody we lost to last year that is on the 24' schedule, fsu, uga, ky, lsu etc...1 or 2 wins from that aspect
It was actually Mertz who said it first in an interview with Finebaum a couple of months ago but a lot of players are running with it. Good quote for sure though
No matter what happens this season I don’t think Napier is going anywhere. But with a tough brutal schedule we got coming off of back to back losing seasons, we’re in trouble. I’m expecting disappointment so I’ll never be disappointed
SOS is great! I think the stadium can be shrunk although I hate to admit that. I am no longer a season ticket holder since moving from FLA, but tired of uncomfortable seats and being crammed into a seat wedged between rather rotund people who exceed the tiny seats that are allocated for them.
I’m not sitting on bench seats anymore, that’s all I will say. The games costs a fortune now they can at least put in single seats with armrests. It’s not asking much.
We can beat Miami, Samford, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Kentucky, FSU, LSU, Mississippi State. Shit even UCF. Honestly if we play the right way and there isn't as much bad coaching as there was last year we can compete with anybody besides Georgia
8 wins plus a bowl win would be a big step forward for the Gators and would help get them back on the road to competing for conference championships. They don’t just need to play better, they need to learn how to win again.
Ali, I'd like to have you on my show to talk about the Gators. As you may know, Billy Napier was the OC for Clemson way back when. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Brian
I got tickets from Vet Tix for last year's Arkansas game. Unfortunately they were for the VERY TOP ROW of the stadium. I'm 65, overweight, diabetic, and legally blind. It damn near killed me going up AND back down. It was an awful experience. I'll never go to another game unless I can get better seats. I wasn't able to follow any of the game from that distance.
Yeah sounds weird specially since he seemed more involved when Mullen was coach if I'm not mistaken. Maybe he just doesn't like the guy I think Billy and Spurrier have different personalities and was throwing shots at Billy. Pretty much said that there were too many cooks in the kitchen and nothing to show for it. 😂😂😂
Just something about Napier's sorta laid back style that makes me wonder if that effects recruiting and getting the extra best out of players. I'd like to see more energy from Napier. I appreciate the respect he has for the players, but there's more to it than FB IQ & love, like the way energy & enthusiasm is displayed. Just my take.
Scott Stricklin has not said how many wins are needed for Napier to keep his job, what he has said is that other sports are elite and football needs to be on the same level. Scott Stricklin doesn't sound like a bowl game is enough to keep his job. Scott wants to see Florida as a top-10 team.
Tell him to get us top 10 program Football NIL money and a proven coach not an experiment as coach of the football team first. I don't blame Billy if he's not successful at UF. Maybe he wasn't ready for the task. I would put blame at the people who decided to hire Billy instead of a big name coach who would have had more of an instant impact.
@@venom390re Billy is a terrible coach with a horrible record. Stricklin is not in any danger of losing his job, he has Basketball in a great spot, Baseball and Softball where 1 win away from a World Series.
@LALMCGatorsfan I hear you but sadly those sports together aren't enough to save Strickland. Football is the goose who lays the golden egg, which says what or will not happen.
Isn't Napier's office right down the hall from where Spurrier is talking? Sounds like he's firing a shot across the bow. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Obviously, Vanderbilt beat us a couple of years ago. OUCH You know it hurt the old ball coach to say that out loud ! 😂😂 37 days until the Canes invade the Swamp ! #GOCANES 🙌
As a Dawg fan, here's my message for "Sunbelt" Billy Napier: " Hire a Real Estate agent and go nab some cardboard boxes...cause you are getting FIRED!!!! GO DAWGS!!!! WOOF WOOF WOOF! ❤️🖤🏆
@harrybakeriii8760 Harry, I remember the days of Spurrier and "Ray Goof". I am entitled to a bit of bragging. And I will enjoy it while it lasts. See you in Jacksonville.
Geaux Tigers 🐯🐯🐯🐯 until further notice Florida is the Tennessee of 2008-2021 the dark ages of gator football are still on. Sorry to break this to y’all but Gator nation is in for a very rough year. It should be obvious for many reasons.
@@harrybakeriii8760 our QB may not be as mobile as Jayden Daniels but he’s looked good every time he’s out there playing. We have the best OL in the nation, one of the best receiving cores in the nation (WRU), and a QB coach Joe Sloan who is proven bc he made Jayden a heisman winner and 2nd overall pick in the draft. I’m not the one whose worried the gators are far away from contending for anything meaningful and mattering. Get it together bc one more bad hire and you’re officially the 2008-2021 Tennessee. Geaux Tigers 🐯🐯🐯😘
Shrink the stadium? WTF? That much confidence huh? DEI in full effect. If you're losing fans maybe it's because you're on track to have 4 losing seasons in a row since the 30s. College football is more popular than it's ever been but Florida wants to "shrink" the stadium. Can people that have never played 1 snap quit pretending they know. I'm not even a Gators fan, but I feel sry for those loyal fans that really deserve better.
It’s Doom and gloom for the Gators 🐊 they should have left Napiers in the Sunbelt Shame on the AD for hiring Billy and Billy doesn’t belong coaching in the SEC I foresee a 2 win season and bottom of the barrel again for this team it’s going to suck to be a gator again! The AD needs to be fired as well as the coach They both have broken this program
Bowl games are no longer a priority when a 6-6 season can land you in a meaningless bowl game. We have a playoff Championship and bowl games will only exist as hosts in that format in the future.
1989: Florida Gators are on probation and cant go to a bowl game or win a championship thanks to Galen Hall.. Enter Steve Spurrier, Florida goes 9-3 in his first season. No under the walking trash can Billy Napier there have been nothing but excuses. He was left a mess by Dan Mullen. Remember the mess that Spurrier was left. Fire Billy Napier . Ohhhh he will be fired by mid season and we can get a real coach in Gainesville
And then lose Lagway and all those 5 stars? Stfu clown the only way he gets canned is if they don’t make a bowl game. Norvel had a worse record at fsu his first two years in the terrible acc 😆
I’d like to know who you define as a “real coach?” Go look at Napier’s contract and read the buyout. He’s going to be the coach through, at least, the 2025 season.
@@Chasing72 no fucking way. Another losing season and his ass is gone . But for a real coach how about Lane Kiffin or Dan planning maybe even Jedd Fish who has ties to UF thru Steve Spurrier. Don't tell me that you are 1 of the delusional fans that think that SunBeltBilly is gonna bring Florida back to prominence
@@MusicMan-pg8hsdon't get mad at us bro. We will support whoever the coach is at UF. Be mad at Strickland and whoever else makes those choices for getting us experiments as our coaches. Muschamp was just a glorified DC, McElwain wasn't a fit for the SEC or UF, Mullen idk wtf happened but he hasn't even been hired by another program which should tell you something, and Napier? I mean he was good in FCS but does that translate to bit time college football?
@@eduardodiaz9433 I support the Gators players but not Billy Napier. A coach does not get paid 10s of millions to go 5-7. As far as Strickland goes his ass needs to go as well. BTW Napier did not come from a FCS team. Louisiana is a FBS team
