There were too many moments where she could not hide her smile. Steve knew that Laura loved him even when she had not yet uttered those words "I love you" to him. No wonder he would say "you love me don't you?" and she would tell him no but deep down it was a yes she did love him. They both had to mature and grow up first.

@@JanetMarieRose73 In my typed up alteration, they get together after Steve says about Laura being his forever in Just One Date in season 4. It's so amazing and beautiful how Steve knew all along that he and Laura belonged together from kindergarten. He told Laura in season 2 he would wait forever for her. It took Laura 15 years to finally realize Steve is the one for her after getting the double proposal and no man would ever love and adore Laura more than Steve. You clearly see it after watching the entire series that Steve's heart always belonged to Laura (one of the millions of things he did for Laura to show and express his love was spend 16 hours in the city dump searching for her doll). And they do end up getting married, the wedding is just not shown onscreen. I typed up such a beautiful and romantic and passionate alteration (with dialog) to Family Matters where Steve Urkel and Laura get together long before they really do on the actual show. Myra never enters the picture (I don't hate the person Michelle Thomas but she was made to look desperate since Steve's heart always belonged to Laura and Steve had a condition for dating him which he would be leaving her). Laura has to know if she feels anything from kissing him but she can't tell him beforehand and it has to be the perfect moment so she decides to kiss Steve in the kitchen in episode Just One Date of season 4 after he proclaims his love for her while looking at her so passionately intense that only he can do (and he looks at her like this many times and in season 9 in Grill Of My Dreams, Mr. Tanaka aka Pat Morita, tells Steve it's fitting to do his cooking debut in front of the woman his heart has chosen and Steve asks how he knew it was Laura and Mr. Tanaka says it's all in Steve's eyes, his eyes says it all) and after Steve says about being his forever, Laura gives him the most passionate, intense kiss and they end up kissing for a long time and she realizes that he is the one for her. Like all couples, they never have every single little thing in common (like frog legs, but she gives polka a try like on the actual show in season 9 Polkapalooza and ends up loving it) but she realizes he is the one for her, he makes her feel things she's never felt before, her eyes are opened and she's seeing him in the way he deserves to be seen, the kissing makes her realize he is attractive with his glasses and he truly loves her and adores her and she finally feels the same way and they are together from that moment on and Hungry Eyes from Eric Carmen becomes their song because of how they both look at each other (Steve has always looked at Laura with such passionate intensity but now they both look at each other in this way, and many parts of the song apply to one or both of them). They are together and very romantic and passionate while still waiting until marriage to make love. Just like on the actual show, they save themselves for marriage. But Hungry Eyes is their song they kiss to and dance to, among other songs. I just typed up and picture and wish a far better storyline (including dialog) where there's so much more romance and passion between them since Steve knew all along he and Laura were meant to be together since kindergarten and it took Laura 15 years to realize he is the one for her. In my alteration from that scene in Just One Date in season 4, Laura profusely apologizes to Steve and admits for several years she has had suppressed and denial of feelings for him and has gotten jealous and missed him (which she really does on the actual show which makes this alteration even better) and ever since that kiss in the kitchen, she realizes that he always knew they were meant for each other but now she knows and never has felt better in her life and feels so free and alive. If only it could have been the way I typed it and envision it, I can't type everything as I picture but it's beyond incredible. It's so beautiful and romantic and passionate and intense without being actual sex. No clothes taken off or anything like that. Very romantic and passionate while still being innocent for TV. The kissing they do is like how you see Rocky and Adrian kiss for the first time in Rocky and the kiss Rocky and Adrian have when they are lying on the bed right before they make love in Rocky II after getting married. So incredible!

And it's confirmed if there was a season 10, it would have ended with the birth of their daughter Stephanie Laurine Urkel. This actually the true season finale with the entire cast there at the hospital. The beginning of season 10 was suppose to be Steve and Laura's wedding...

TripleL Love Other facts on season 10 Stefan would eventually get reabsorbed back into Steve. Steve voice would be lower and be less clumsy. Steve's parents would finally make an appearance. They treated him so badly because they feared being parents themselves and other stuff like that (Steve was worried about being a father naturally do to being the way his parents treated him.) and with talking from Carl and Laura they decide to become better parents to him. Eddie marries Greta and Waldo marries Maxine after clearing a mix up (Eddie ends up married to Maxine and Waldo to Greta). 3J would eventually move back in with his birth mother he and Richie would compete for Gwendolyn's affections.

I do believe Laura had always admired many of Steve's inner qualities, and she even admitted she loved his intelligence as early as season 3, but Laura probably also wished someone else had everything Steve had.

Its true these were feelings that were building over the course of the show, her feelings for him intensified when he became more of her friend and didn't chase after her as much. Laura and Steve both had some growing up to do and it was well worth the wait to see them together.

I believe the ratings were bad because the show went from ABC to CBS before Season 9 started, and the viewers on CBS didn’t know the stories from the first 8 seasons. The fans from ABC probably didn’t know that the show was on CBS, so the real fans didn’t witness Laura finally realizing that she loved Steve.

Yes, you’re right it was harassment. The show is for sure endearing and iconic but ain’t nothing wrong with recognizing what is fantasy and what won’t be tolerated in real life.

No it wasn’t harassment. Carl was a policeman. If he thought any of them were being harassed, don’t you think Carl would’ve put an end to that? Furthermore, if they didn’t want him in the house, he wouldn’t have been there. If Laura didn’t really want him in her life, he wouldn’t have been. Steve was annoying and had destroyed almost every room in that house. Them being mean to him at times was a counter balance to his antics. Plus, Laura was confused about her feelings for Steve, and it took her a while to understand them. She was mean to him sometimes because he deserved it(and he did), while other times she was mean because Steve knew how to get to her heart better than anyone, and she didn’t like it, nor was she going to allow herself to get Steve Urkeled(fall for him). But she was already Urkeled. She was jealous of every girlfriend he had(Susie and Myra). Yet she claimed the whole while she didn’t have any feelings for Steve. 😳😐🤔

You are not feeling

I disagree, I mean the show always blatantly shoved in our faces how special the Steve/Laura dynamic was. Each season their bond naturally grew until it evolved into a great friendship and eventual complementary healthy partnership **because** they were meant to be. They balance each other out, when things get real they always have each other's backs, in fact she shows the most consistent genuine concern and affection for Steve and he's able to get her guard down to reveal her sweet side way more than anyone else ever could. "I'm wearing you down" is an understatement because even early on there are times she just can't resist his unique ability to touch her heart or make her smile. She hugs Steve more than she hugs everyone else on that show combined--including her parents and Maxine. The show has teased and openly foreshadowed a Steve/Laura endgame ever since season 2 and in the last season their romance was pretty amazing slow burn that kept all my attention. Teenage Steve would have been obnoxious and overzealous knowing that Laura was finally falling for him, but adult Steve knew to be more gracious, cautious, and patient. They met in the middle, as adults do, and the more Laura let her guard down, the more she never stopped smiling. She has always (accidentally or not) allowed herself to be emotionally vulnerable with Steve in ways she's never been vulnerable with any other boy. It was always Steve and it was always going to be Steve, she just had to trust the insight of adulthood to accept the desirable and exceptionally good person he really was. It was no longer annoying to be loved by Steven Q Urkel, it became an *honor* to love and be loved by Steven Q Urkel and I'm glad she realized that in time. We are meant to be happy for them because we watched these kids grow up together and they deserve to be happy adults together.
