I'm a guitar player, and I love playing this stuff, to a certain extent, I like listening to it, but I don't think I could stand 90 minutes of it in a concert. After a while, it kind of turns to mush, like the lapping of a wave at the ocean. Am I underselling the live experience?
I think it depends on what kind of player you are and what your tastes are. I'm a major Vai fan. And I could listen to him live all day and night and never get tired of both hearing him and watching his showmanship. But that's just me. And sometimes it doesn't matter how much you love a certain artist. There are various reasons why you might not be able to watch/listen to them live for any length of time. But it's not a bad thing. It's just your personal quirks. And there's nothing wrong with that.
to an extent this was true when me and some friends went, but I still think you should see this master before it's too late. Also seeing for the love of God played live was incredible
