Steve's guitar is connected directly to his soul

Damn, Steve just used his controls more in one song than most guitarists will do in their whole career.

Does he still use a board? Most of the top guitarists have a dedicated tech to co-ordinate their sounds.

Subscribed! Thank you sir for all that "beautiful bean footage!" 😀 Someone has to know where that is from 😂. As a guitar player, I am just watching his right "picking hand" pinky and that amazing volume control he has... LOVE IT!

@@gjtube37 that's very nice of you. Thank you. I'm constantly in a battle with myself to one up myself to bring you viewers out there something new and exciting in my videos. They are spread all over the place because only about 50% of my work ends up here in my own channel. I did some similar type of stuff with The Aristocrats on their 2015 DVD called Culture Clash LIVE. You may want to check that stuff out too.

I really appreciate your creativity and talent. What you're doing with this is really helping guitarists like myself and I'm sure other musicians not to say it also looks really cool and is a lot of fun to watch. Please keep it up and thanks again! All the best!

I think it's actually a filter to keep the high end when he rolls down the volume pot. Satriani has one of them on the Tone Pot of all of his JS models as well.

Yes, GoPros became a fun tool and wound up in a lot of music videos. I have had the honor and pleasure of having Steve Vai sign my 1989 Ibanez Jem guitar TWICE! 13 years apart... and he remembered the first time. LOL The man is not of this world. :-) I too, was a pioneer of the GoPro on the guitar camera angle all the way back in 2011 with the "from the headstock" view on a cover by Damien Rice called Cannonball. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IIRJdMWbqbk.html

great work capturing this! I just got an action camera, and I am hoping for mounts as I write this... Any suggestions? I got the YI Action Camera... Looking for the mount to go from tripod thread to GoPro... Thanks
@JasonMcNamara
@JasonMcNamara 6 лет назад
Sorry for the late reply. GoPro actually make one themselves. Check the mounts on their website. Also there are lots of 3rd party companies making mounts. They're not hard to find, well here in Tokyo at least.

watch this whole thing in 50% speed to catch crazy hybrid pickings and whammy. I didn't even know Flo III's last four frets were carved in
@droneshotsetc572

anyone able to tell me why frets 20-24 looks like that? they dont appear to be straight and theres deep indents in the wood. Ive never seen it before, what is it from/for?
@JasonMcNamara
@JasonMcNamara 5 месяцев назад
The who neck has what's known as "True Temperament Frets". They are perfectly intonated the whole way up the neck.

When did S install a push pull volume pot? What does it do when pulled?
@JasonMcNamara
@JasonMcNamara 6 лет назад
When I'm not sure, but as for the what does it do, I've read from some people that is a high filter like what's on the Joe Satriani model.

Are those picks on the bridge pickup for him to use or for some other reason. How are they held on? Edit. Might be tape?
@ledhendrix5054
@ledhendrix5054 Год назад
Its to stop the High E String from getting caught on that Neck Pickup , it can happen when using the whammy bar , especially when the strings go really slack from dive Bombing .

GoPro Hero 4? What settings did you use? Low light video from a GoPro never looks good for me
@darkcashyz
@darkcashyz 6 лет назад
I think stage lights covered all the recorded area
@JasonMcNamara
@JasonMcNamara 6 лет назад
All 7 of the camera's on that day were the Hero3+. The Hero4 hadn't been released yet at that time. If I remember correctly I did have it set to low light. And darkcashz is correct that the stage lights helped to no end.
