Great video and playing. My favourite Val solo is at the end of Ease by PIL. There is an incredible ascending run at around the 6m10s mark of the song. Believe me, I would absolutely love to see that.

Thank You again Cameron for another awesome lesson. The "Eat'em and Smile " was filled with amazing riffs, licks, and solos, and really helped put Steve Vai on the map. The technics he used on this album was absolutely unparralled.

I don't know why it's controversial to say this, but, the original DLR band (first two albums) was wayyy better than Van Hagar IMO. Now, a more controversial opinion...I take "Eat em" over any VH album after "1". "Eat em" and "1984" haven interchanged as my second favorite DLR album but I settled into "eat em" a few years ago. And while skyscraper is a little more hit and miss, it's in the top 5.
@CameronCooper
@CameronCooper 10 месяцев назад
Glad you set that in stone because I feel the same. I like VH with DLR and Van Hagar for different reasons. And Eat em and Smile is a great album from start to finish. My controversial opinion for VH is 'Balance' is probably my favourite VH album then followed by 1984.

Yeah Buddy Steve Via, I am totally serious when I say you are the best guitar teacher I’ve seen,.. I’ve always been able to see what people are doing and all , but they don’t take the care and time, running through it slowly ,..piece by piece and you are better at explaining the entire process ,… you don’t just play it slow once then speed it up a million miles an hour showing off,.. thanks for your time & Videos.
