The old ones are by far the best. It was great when DLR did it and still stands up now. Just good time rock and Stevie Vai and Sebastian Bach still got it 😀🎸🎸
@@shredhed572 While Akira did use a Dano headstock Killer Guitars model, (in tribute of the old Sandoval customs, where he would use an old Dano neck), the one Akira is using here has Killer Guitars' own trademark design headstock, with a 5+1 tuner configuration...
The Steve Vai's genius is to imitate the Sebastian Bach's voice "looking for his microphone" before the beginning of the song which is precisely built on this conversation between the singer and the guitar. A great moment. Amazing
Just ran across this while going down a yt rabbit hole. Grinning ear to ear, watching this & reading through the comments. A nice Sun afternoon treat.🎸
These old rockers deserve respect. They were giants in their time. Even today, few of their contemporaries demonstrate equal talent. Go back another decade or two, and the talent discrepancy increases even more. Think singers like Robert Plant, or even guitar players like Les Paul or Chet Adkins. Few people today can do what they did then even with all of the best gear that was unimaginable for them. A very rare few modern musicians still have that magic, but too few. Most of the best aren't even trying to become famous. They are studio musicians who just want to pay the bills and be sure bread is on the table everyday. Modern hero level musicians who get zero recognition and you wouldn't know from Jack if you met them on the street.
What a performance form Steve. He will go down in history as one of the best. Hendrix Eddie Vai Joe so many great guitar players so many unknown who are just as good but that's the way the cookie crumbles ! I was lucky enough to see the eat'm n smile tour F**King AMAZING ! ! ! !
I’ve often wondered if Dave was a cigarette smoker, and if his diminished vocals were the result of that long term habit. We know EVH was a heavy smoker. They all partied heavily nack in the day, and too much boozing can reek havoc on vocal chords, as well. Sucks that VH last tours with Dave are mostly known for how bad he sounded, even when the band was on point. I’ve often wondered what specifically killed Dave’s voice, or if it’s a combination of things?
@@cleech74 - Yes, all kinds of pics of Dave smoking. Both the early days and present day. Hagar, Mikey, Wolfie & Cherone all non-smokers.... DLR, and both VH brothers heavy smokers.
@@scottcummings8602 That makes sense. It’s really unfortunate, and their last run was more of a cash grab. For guys who made some of the best rock & roll albums ever, they had to have had conversations during the practice sessions, knowing just how shot Dave’s voice was, and that it was bad enough to potentially piss off the fans that would shelled out money for expensive concert tickets, and leave the show feeling like it was below their expectations. Musicians often lose a step as they age, but Dave literally couldn’t sing a good amount of their material.
great unbelievable lineup. Sebastian, Akira and Steve! where can you see this... i'm jealous if you were there!! (but next year i am on The KISS Kruise 10... haha)
Steve, Billy and Greg...? You just found your singer and if you incorporate some Skid Row and Apollo songs in the set, the Eat Em and Smile Band is in full effect!
@@1970borntorun Hey, Sebastian Bach is 52, and sings like he's 32. He's kept his voice up. Dave has all those classic songs, and butchers them every night. I've heard Eddie Trunk say this as well, it's not just me.
@@muchomusiclibre You guys are TOTALLY missing my point lol Dave doesn't CARE to be a great singer at this late stage of his Life. He is up there having fun, dusting off the old VH classics for the fans. Period. My comment was NOT to invest time the tired/stupid debate on whether Dave is a "great singer" , or to compare Sebastian to Dave, or to contrast Dave's vocals now to 1981. Do you guys have it now, or do you need an Excel Spreadsheet?? lol
Es un ensueño en forma de mujer.....Yankee Rose...una fantasía......Yankee Rose.......estoy loco por la Yankee Rose...... 07:44 Tímido, tímido.....hasta lo íntimo......
because when these idiots pull a "concert" like this one, they all come out in force. nothing is more hilarious than when vai, satriani, gilbert and however many other guitar geniuses they can collect all play a resounding version of "Hey Joe".
