I've been looking for how to play this song ever since I heard it on Detroit. I actually play this song in my downtown area, along with a few other songs. Awesome lesson. Thanks!
Words can't express how much I love this song. It's the kind of song you can have on repeat 1000x and still each time it speaks to you on a different level.
D'habitude je n'accorde pas énormément d'importance au détail en jeux mais réellement ta musique m'a fait tilté Merci beaucoup pour ce petit moment d'humanité !
No way!!!!!!!! I have always played my own version because I couldn't figure it out, I love this and I love you!!!! Keep on playing those beautiful tunes.
Wow, you just keep giving us new ways to enjoy Melbourne Rain! Living in England, it's unlikely I'll ever get to see you play live, so every slightly different version of the song (or even a shortened version, in this case) you perform and post is a pleasure to listen to. Thank you muchly, Mr.Wallis.
Hey dude, I’d planned to be in England earlier this year for some gigs but corona put a stop to that. Hopefully once things improve I’ll make it happen. 👍
Really? Well hot damn! I live about an hour away from London, but if you visit Anywhere in the bottom half of England, my partner and I would go far out of our way to see you.
Wow, I try Detroit on Ps5 for the first time! Start, I meet the musician on the street: Menu ---> Turn off console ---> Open youtube ---> search tutorial "Detroit guitar song" ---> I take the guitar and repeat it in loop all day. end
I finally figured out the tabs and learnt to play this perfectly last month after giving up the first time around thank you so much this is my favourite song to play for friends and family now!! Love all of your work you're incredibly talented :)
And by the way. Detroit become human is how I found you. And I almost immediately fell in love with your song. As soon as I heard a guy playing it in the center of the busy metropolis of Detroit.
Hi! Thanks for asking! Well, it's maybe not that cool of a story, but here you go. I live in Paris (where Quantic Dream are based), and I used to work as a game developer (at a different studio in Paris). I have a friend/ex-colleague who went to work at Quantic, and when they were looking for someone to play the busker, she suggested I audition. I had an audition with David Cage, who asked if I had some originals he could hear, so I played him Melbourne Rain, and that was that. Doing the motion capture shoot was brilliant. Never done anything like that. Wearing the suit covered in ping pong balls, and I had to shave my beard off to stick all the tracking dots on my face! I think its the strangest gig I'll ever play.
@@SteveWallisMusic That actually is a cool story. Life is all about relationships and how they connect. Each one leads to the next and...who knows what's around the corner. Next thing you know, bam, everyone is asking "where did this song come from and who really sings it?" I love it, man. I may have never found it otherwise, so, thank your friend as I do. BTW...the video game character kind of looks like Adam Sandler. That made it even cooler (is that a word?) for me. Cheers, man. I promise that me and my friend Brad will be playing this song at the next gathering and I will be checking out more of your stuff. I would ask about details of how this song came about but...sometimes that ruins things. So, I will just enjoy and make it my own. Peace to you, my friend.
@@SteveWallisMusic Also, I am from Detroit ("The Straight" in French). Probably the only reason that I bought the game. Detroit natives are suckers for anything that includes their city. Despite what the world sees, it is a place of culture and light. Thanks very much to the French!
I heard this song in Detroit: Become Human first from the street performer in the game and I stopped and listened to the whole thing cause I was in awe of how good it was. Got it on Spotify next and have been trying to find a video on how to play it for a while and lo and behold Steve Wallis himself has made a video on how to play it. This has become one of my favourite songs and I have been dying to play it so this is just awesome, thank you
Good morning Steve. I never play guitare but your small course is very interesting. Your song is fantastic & now I’m thinking to learn how to play. Thank you so much.
Man you deserve to be famous with pieces like this... I just discovered it on Detroit and I said to myself it should be some famous singer I don't know, I have to find this track, to play it myself... The melody and the singing are so amazing and relaxing, and they transmit sheer talent. Keep going like this, good luck! (I live in France as well by the way :D)
God bless you Steve. What a wonderful song. It really touches my heart. And thank you for the great little guitar fingerstyle lesson here. Exactly what I was looking for. I’m gonna do a slam in cover of this song. And only shout when you out the Whole way. God bless you

Thanks a lot for this tuto, Steve ! Everyone needs a bit of motivation in this weird year. Mine will be to be able to play this beautiful song by the end of the second lockdown in France. Cheers :)
Ah yeah, I have pretty big hands so I fret with my thumb like that a lot. You could try playing the F as a barre chord? I just tried it, its a bit tricky but it works :)
Hey I first thing I wanna say is I really love your song! I e been meaning to get back into guitar every since college started back up and I want this to be the song to get me picking again! But you kinda lost me after you started going into the creative freedom portion of the video and I can’t get the picking pattern down right. It’s really frustrating. Could you more in depth with the pattern itself?
