He is underrated. He is a virtuoso genius musician who combines multiple music styles, always has since Traffic days. Any serious music fan who doesn’t know his history and importance is missing a master.

@@shittysunglasses Well I get it. Like all great singers he has a very distinctive voice. I always thought he was a lot younger than me. Turns out it's only a couple of months. He seemed very young in all his early work, Spencer Davis, Traffick, Blind Faith. He was a wunderkind.
He is truly a living legend. This man's talent is immeasurable...voice with soul, guitar, piano, organ, writer, an o.g. from the 60s!!! .. I hope I just get one chance to see him live.
I absolutely love this song. Both versions hit so differently and profoundly as a father of two daughters. The original always moves me to dance. This one makes me cry...in the best way tho. Thank you for sharing the talented Winwoods.
wow, Steve still has a great voice at 70 years old. I'm quite sure he'll still have this luxury in 20 years from now when he is 90! He has always portrayed a great singing voice and charisma. Thanks Steve Winwood for all you do sir!
Most people when they reach 70,used to be about5 years or so in retirement.today not so much.Unless they have medical problems,and they cannot return to work.This happens to all ages,not just older people,sadly.,
Steve Winwood is definitely one of the greatest artists in the recent decades. His talent as a musician is incomparable as well his voice. He’s also very versatile from his blues-rock work in Blind Faith to writing pop perfection with Higher Love. Thank you for inspiring me, Steve. 👍🏽
Yeah impossible, tons of older artists have to lower the key to be able to pull it off but this is in the friggin same key as on the album! He must be a non smoker and not drink any whisky to maintain his voice like that. Freak of nature, and I mean that in a good way!
Wholly shit. Dude is around 70 and still can blow like he did when he was in his early to mid 30s. Original key and still solid. This kind of maintenance is unheard of. Amazing.

WOW!!! He stills sounds GREAT!!!! After 32 years his voice is great. Background singers would’ve enhanced this performance. He’s now sporting sideburns. But he looks great! I can still see the original video in 1986 with him jamming with the legendary Chaka Khan. Great song from one the 1980’s biggest selling artist.....
Well, I guess we know about how old Malcom is. Spencer Davis Group was formed in 1963, with then 14-year-old Stevie singing most of the vocals. But, he was part of a band prior to that with his brother where they would have to sneak him into the clubs. So ... that's more than 56 years. When only 18, Winwood, Winwood and Davis came out with Gimme Some Lovin' and I'm a Man. I'm 18 and I'm so fortunate my family listens to this kind of music because I am a HUGE fan of music from people like Steve Winwood, all the old bands(Journey, Earth Wind and Fire, etc!). I'm going to see him when he comes to my state in July. So thrilled we still have him around and he still sounds amazing!
Similar, although i am a few yrs older. My parents loved records and so i was brought up on vinyl, motown, beatles, kinks all of steve winwoods contemporaries. As child, not really a toy, i was bought a record player, a 1960's retro machine and i was blown away. As a teenager i got heavily into collecting lp records in bulk, and this has been my obsession ever since. Its hard to believe just how many different bands and artists there were during the past 3 decades 1960's 70's & 80's who all at one time or another have made incredible albums. Your 18/19, i hope you get to enjoy it, just like i did when i started at 14. mid 1990's Only thing i will add, don't get too carried away like i have, life is very short!. Ive spent most of my life collecting & listening to so many albums, but what the heck, i enjoy it and it is one of the greatest hobbies ever!!!!!

God I love this dude. Always respected him but then saw him preform at Bonnaroo in 04 before the Grateful Dead members played. Pouring rain...too much LSD, way too much...Winwood came on late and I mistimed my dose...took me through every emotion possible...finished with Back in the High Life...tears...mind blown apart. The Dead came on wayyy late after and I saw the world end but god almighty I remember Steve and VERY little of the band I traveled 18 hours for. Love you Steve.

Iam.. 63 . Grew up with this amazing, voice, performer….and I love his perfections/imperfections. Love his flannel shirt, and grey sideburns. Nothing more sexy,then “Authenticity” coming from Pefection.
My Dad bought the Back in the High Life when it came out,he saw Steve in concert in the 60s when Steve was 16 .....I was a teen and played the Hell out of the High Life CD!
