This is the Whitney I wish people would remember. She was sick! There are many videos of her giving performances while sick, and still killing it. She didn’t cancel shows or lip sync like so many others. This is why she was the best.
G B You are an idiot. You think people with drug addictions can’t get a fucking cold? Do some research. Take a look at how many live performances she gave during this time. Then, go look at some of the other coked out musicians and compare. Whitney was far from the only singer on drugs yet she managed to be at the top of her game through most of it.
Man I forgot how technically difficult some of her songs were. She had a huge range of pitch changes in this one. You have to be really gifted to keep the melody with that much range.

WHITNEY on the other hand, one could only wish that her singing would never end. That being said Mariah, Christina, Celine, Aretha and countless others MAY BE very talented vocalist BUT Whitney was GIFTED, and YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE! Just saying..

Jason Johnson the studio version was on RU-vid until Kygo’s was released. I’ve been searching for it, I honestly think it’s slightly better than kygo’s.
@@Cheffinwithammyyy Agreed. Luckily I downloaded it a year ago so I've been listening to it non stop. One of Whitney's best vocals and I think Kygos version cut some of the biggest notes on the song. I think he missed a trick by sacrificing as much of the vocal for the beat.
There are great singers...and then there's Whitney. I still remember the first time I heard her. I was in a band, and another member came into rehearsal with a cassette (yup, a cassette) that we "just had to hear". We spent the next two hours listening to this new singer, over and over. We never got around to rehearsal that night.

She had everything. Adoration of millions, wealth, model looks and beauty, more talent in her little finger than most “artists” today yet she was so sad. It’s perplexing.
It's easy for people to say it was this or that after she died, once she is no longer here - and to try to put labels on it. She did have a lot of trauma during her formative years which brought in a lot of confusion and chaos - things which never got resolved. Add in lots of things like not being allowed to be human...so many expecting perfection from her, etc. The list goes on and on.
I will also say that her life was not very private and the extreme judging of her was nearly constant and frankly, still is. The books, interviews, documentaries, future endeavors in similar vein...it gets old. She had many amazing qualities as a person and singer. We should focus on those or stay quiet.
This life puts enormous stress on people. The schedules are gruelling, you're on the road all the time, everything you eat, drink, wear and do are controlled, you're picked apart in the media over every little thing, everyone wants a piece of you, you never know who is just using you, you're constantly exhausted but terrified of failing, having to stay "on" for people.... plain fact is that the pressure breaks people in showbiz. Their lives don't belong to them anymore. I wouldn't be famous for any money.
He did a great job of turning what should already be a funktastic whitney classic into cookie cutter modern pop trash. Still, he brought me here so thumbs up I guess

That’s technically her singnature move in almost every performance😊 up after she finishes a performance until her last one unfortunately. 😔 I noticed that about her🤔😏😁 My favorite is when she bows and cross her legs at the same time I be like oh my gosh how???🤔👀🥴 like that’s amazing🤩
The fact that this is the only live performance of her singing this song at least that we know of should be special on it's own. This song the meaning the love for it everything is important and truly amazing.

She's so classy, so elegant, and so graceful even the way she bow to the audience. What a lady, such a lady. And that voice, even if she's sick she still sound beast... what a vocal. I just can't get enough of her. 💗💗💗
Her movements were so smooth and effortless. I love everything about this performance. I prefer this version vs the remix. I wish we could back in time and enjoy her all over again. First ever album I bought was Whitney’s debut album. I supported her music through thick and thin. I will forever love this woman.
So beautiful! A true talent, NO light show... NO dance team... NO elaborate stage. Just musicians, singers, the fans & beautiful Whitney! Beautiful in voice, spirit and person. She is one of a few songstresses.
Listening to the Kygo remix/remake I thought to myself "how did they engineer a dead woman's voice to get her to sound so great?!"... after a quick google search, here I am. Shocked. In awe. Amazed. Teary eyed. At a loss for words to describe how Whitney and this performance make me feel.
I loved the Steve Winford version but Whitney’s Gospel version touched my soul. Then I heard Kygo’s version and I said this is one of the best collabs I’ve heard. I love how he didn’t do anything to her voice just built around it and it is my fav song right now. But saying that, Whitney’s version is my FAV♥️

This voice is one in 100 billions. This woman had it all, but luck of a good man next to her. So talented, such a voice, such a beautiful woman, but such a tragic end.
