I am so very happy for you. I have von willebrand hemophilia und I understand the side effects of chemo. So great to meet you and congratulations on your son. God bless you
@@trinahumbleskipper1510 I hope and pray that you are doing ok.. Thank you Trina and may God keep you in his Loving arms and keep you safe always. It is a pleasure to meet you.. God Bless you ..🙏
This chorus popped in my head today for some reason. I've had depression for almost 30 years and every day is a struggle. This song makes me feel good inside.
It's such a shame that all mainstream music now is negative and toxic instead of uplifting and vibrant. But there's a reason for it most won't ever understand.
Meh...typical mediocre pop music of the 80's, nothin' special IMHO. Had to hear this song again (for the first time in decades), to remind me of that fact. 🙄
@@not-so-smartaleck8987sounds like you could use a listen to The Finer Things, Higher Love, or Back in the High Life to get a reminder of the vast styles and textures this fine musician uses to enrich his artistic palette.
I am a four time cancer survivor but there are those worse off than I am. I have the words to this great song printed and in a frame. It has gotten me through a lot. God Bless you Mr Winwood ❤❤
And that's a song you like waking up to now isn't it and the video is not bad at all I saw him when I was 14 in concert and I saw him again 20 years ago and I'll be 70 this November and next month I'm going to see Jefferson Starship at the Reno rib cook-off the largest little city in world that God made you guys should come come and see the largest little city in the whole world that God made it's awesome here about four seasons if we're not sweating we're hitting the snow rib cook-off is the first September🍗🥨🍕😎👍🌭🌽🍿🥃🍺🍻🥂🧋🍷🍶🍾🧁🍩
@@davidmoran5431 Um, I hardly ever see commentary about his voice or his artistry in the many music groups /pages I follow on social media; therefore, I consider him underrated. He is not mentioned a lot.
k I go back way farther than that, and that's all anyone talked about and even now there are encomia all over (incl y/t) about the vocal achievements of his adolescence whatever --- your first sentence was and is nonsense, though, by any measure. it's like saying what an underrated melodist carole king is, or what an underrated guitarist clapton is, or what underrated pipes jackie wilson had if you don't know you don't know, I guess
Ha! I just watched the Prince While my Guitar Gently Weeps video with Steve Winwood and thought, I know the name, but can't name any songs. So I type his name into YT search and find the sound track to my 80's youth.
I love this. Helps me roll with back pain. And I can still dance I'm 78, and 1/2. I saw Stevie Winwood with Cream in 1969 That was after I came back from Woodstock. One of the few things I really like about being this old is my music history. Another example being James Brown & the famous flames in 1964. And Otis Redding & Carla Thomas at the Apollo NYC in 1967. Just sayin'
Steve Winwood has been in the music business along time he started out with the Spencer Davis group in the early 60s his brother was part of the group as well.. His style is one of a kind and can't be duplicated just a special gift amazing talent..
The first time I heard this song - I was 10 years old visiting my aunt and uncle in Texas. My aunt had a black 911 Black Porsche Carerra - when sports cars were standard. My uncle who I loved and miss dearly brought this for her bday. They were awesome! She put this song on and told me to buckle up. I molded into the back seat and we were off. It was one the best moments of my childhood. I’ll be 40 on Cinco de Mayo. I lost touch with her due to my family being unkind people yet I’m so grateful for her. She introduced me to amazing music. This song always brings back nostalgia. I’m so stoked to blare this song in my Porsche while driving my kiddos around and my husband smiling bc he sees my inner child happy too ❤❤❤ Cheers and love to all you beautiful souls! We got this
@@howie9751 You may be hearing the similarity to I'm a Roadrunner by Jr. Walker. As a matter of fact, there was some controversy about Winwood's Roll With It. Legal action was taken by Motown and the writers of Roadrunner (Holland Dozier Holland) were added to the credits of Roll With It.
@@margomckaine78 A DJ on the radio said it was "Shotgun" and I do hear the similarities there. Also with "Roadrunner" but to me not as much. But no doubt that Winwood took his song from the Jr. Walker.
I hear you; his songs are timeless, and they never get old nothing like seeing him live I was blessed to see him 4 times last time was 2003 at the house of blues in north myrtle beach SC one of those feel-good shows. you know
He had to be killing it before 16 cuz he had to be practicing at least by 12:00 or 13 cuz I saw him when I was 14 and I'll be 70 this November so I'm 69 now my zodiac sign and I saw him in concert here in Reno Nevada the largest city in the world 20 years ago no one comes to Reno for concerts anymore now watch they'll go to Las Vegas where the new stadium is built more people more money
@@doodooman841 I'm rollin with it every day, thanks, it does not define or consume me, its the hand i'm dealt, far greater is he that is in me !!!!!!!!!!!!
This Song got me thru Many Tough Times IN MY LIFE!! Had a ova 20 year Crack Addiction!! Now a Licensed Drug Counselor!!!! This Song gave me HOPE!!!!!! 15 years Clean and Work for NEXUS!!!!! Still Rolling with it!!!!
WOULD YOU BELIEVE... Steve Winwood was in the music business since around 1965, over time collaborating with such legends as Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, and Chaka Khan, But in 1988, this was the only song of his ever to top the Billboard charts... on his fortieth birthday.
C.T. Warren X Also at the age of 17, he sang and played guitar in a band called The Spencer Davis Group. It was 1966 in the UK and they knocked The Beatles Day Tripper off the No 1 spot, with Keep On Running. Once you heard him, you never forgot him.
My husband and I sang this over and over in tough times and danced to in good times. He's gone from this plane now but it's always a moment of long ago togetherness that gives me determination to "Roll With It Baby " like we always did for so many happy years. Thank you for the Love's Anthem Steve.
Jeff Rogers you got that right! I would loved to have seen him with Traffic....just to see him do Dear Mr. Fantasy!!! I was a young teen in '72 when it came out, but I believe the music from then was the best ever made!
This song has it all! One of Steve's work of art, it's got that great beat, along with the mix of horns, and the lyrics are spot on when it comes to subjet material, and Steve's voice that gives it the tri-fecta that makes it one of his best! Gotta love this one!! When life's too much... Roll with it Baby! Afterall.. you can do it Roll with it Baby! Or roll on out! And I'll roll one instead! Maybe two or five! HAHA
Absolutely. It pops right at you. On the first beat. I love Steve and listen to his music constantly. Glad you enjoy the music I listen to. I love sharing. It's like sharing a coke I think 😎👍💯😍
This song is a foot tapping, butt bumping, hand clapping, finger snapping good time. One of the best songs of the 80,s and today. When MTV played nothing but music.
What a freakin iconic voice, for once the word is appropriate, love to read the comments about how this song helps people deal with depression, just enjoy the ray of sunshine that is this masterpiece and keep rollin' with it ✨
Great musician who can play almost anything & blessed with golden tonsils. If you read about him it seems that everyone, especially in the 60's & 70's wanted to collaborate with him. Hendrix, Clapton et all! An artist always looking for new horizons. The best thing (along with Peter Green maybe) to come out of British rock n roll!
Ha, I remember it being on MTV all the time too and didn't like it much. Just wasn't my genre. I'm enjoying it now. And goodness it's a well-photographed video.
I'm very lucky to have heard this merry, self confidence boosting and visionary type of Roll With It by Steve Winwood between the time I was 7 to 9 years old on the radio, hearing and listening to this song also got me through some spiritual tests of my life around the 2009 to 2010 timeframe, still I enjoy listening to this song several years later through both the challenges and good times of my life
I with you I've been Rolling with it baby for as this song has this song has been in rotation. If I were on the radio I would play his stuff ten times as much. It fills you with hope and love with and a certain depth of good over evil. Thanks for being my friend Steve Winwood I may have never made it to this point. Sincerely Alan Douglas Lord I never got to see you but I love to someday. Sort of handicap makes things complicated.
I fell in love with your solo album in the 80’s. You are an icon. From Spencer Davis, Blind Faith, Traffic and your solo material. Still love every one of your songs.
Man I love this song and video! I remember reading an article or book passage about the 60's British rockers and it was stated that a lot of the black blues players still alive during that time thought very highly of Steve Winwood; said he had soul and he was 'the real deal' well... this song proves what they were talking about!
I would like to thank sir Mr Steve winwood for his devotion to making music and blessing us with his talent. An absolute genius. I play organ piano and alto sax but not with your long fingers and soulful voice. You continue to go sir Mr Steve winwood
