For those that want to know more background info behind how this interview came together, Jack Whitehall talks about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eQgDdLcag98.html
He talked about zen, but his energy was funny, not to much respecfull about this master, asks questions just for the show etc…steven had put the guy on the water…not hurt anybody.next time dont make a show, ans think about your own question…the answer was emerge yourself into the zen
It's staged, so how is it any different? You realize Aikido is bullshit right? And Seagal is the most full of shit of them all, right? Seriously dude, go look up how phony and full of shit he is.
Zen is all about being 100% in this moment. While he was being pushed into the water, his mind was completely clear, focused, and in the moment. That is Zen! Best lesson he could have received.
this is why I dont watch the program. Noone in double digits should be calling their parents mummy, daddy. Otherwise you'll be like the Kennedys who are in their 70's still referring to their rents as mummy and daddy - its sooo vomit inducing
Calling his dad daddy wasnt staged. Some people do, I couldn't live with myself calling my late dad daddy especially on friggin camera but hey each to their own
@@alexanderson1193 this is actually a script dude. It's supposed to be funny. Pull it out. Whatever it is, it's stuck. You need to pull it out so you can relax like everyone else
I actually thought this was a legitimate interaction and not a scripted zen joke. ...which makes this Steven Seagal's best acting performance ever. Wow.
The fact that anyone, for any amount of time, could believe that this isn't scripted really solidifies the absolute degree of stupidity running rampant in the world.
The fact that you needed to take the time to comment says the same my friend. And now you have sucked me in as well. How about we create a social compact to never waste our collective time commenting on youtube videos. Now go forth and spread the gospel, Brother!
Steven Seagal thought it was real. That's the amazing thing about Steven Seagal: he knew all the lines, sure enough the other guy said what he was supposed to, he knew what was going to happen, the guy was going to let him make it happen.. and yet somehow this was still a real interview and physical encounter to Steven.
I figured the answer was why he threw him in the water. Stephen Seagal is brilliant. It is right up there when he asks the guy he was fighting in the bar in On Deadly Ground: "What does it take to change the essence of a man? Time"
@@lowercentenary Zen is about being present, mate. In fact, Zen masters are known to provoke their students with unexpected actions, in order to bring them to the present moment and out of their minds (a momentary enlightenment known as satori). So yeah, this is exactly what a teacher would do.
Ohh I hate close speakers like they’re telling you a secret but then their volume doesn’t change. Unless it’s someone you know well..maybe but no & especially after the whole world just went through the fookery of the frustrating unmentionable- by the censoraurus’ of Googles RU-vid .. the C-Word Varus , makes it even more incredibly strange there’d be any close talkers left. Although anyone w/a logical 🧠 knows this was a very obvious’’Skit’’.
Well- as someone who was a Zen monk for almost 10 years, the guy asked and Seagal - to his great credit- showed him directly. In formal Zen training, immediate demonstrations are required, not clever, wordy pablum. He asked for the essence of Zen and he immediately got shown directly exactly what it is. I doubt he has any idea of what happened to him, but I have a deep respect for Steven Seagal’s depth of understanding, as his demonstration was perfect! And he definitely passed that koan!
I'm thinking scripted. First a "zen master" wouldn't resort to violence and that push was girly. Steve probably needed the job. All you can eat buffets aren't cheap. Question. Is Steven Seagal's hairline widow's peak getting closer to his eyes?
This was fake dude. I actually questioned that myself before I read the comments and found out that it actually was fake and scripted. Just by the way Steven is acting you can tell he doeant act this normal as he does in unscripted events and interviews
Steven doesn't like ppl who think they're above the law and make him feel he's under seige. That puts you on deadly ground and makes you marked for death, and if you think you can fight back just understand when he's out for justice he's definitely hard to kill. Your lucky all he did was throw you in 3 inches of water even though you were at high risk of drowning.
"Can you run fast?" I know that Steven looks at that as a dig at the interviewer but any reputable trainer will always tell you that is your number one defense is to run.
I'm actually surprised Steven Seagal was nice about this and actually spoke to the guy and answered all his questions. The toss at the end was probably Steven mucking around and maybe was even planned. The "interviewer" here is actually famous comedian/actor Jack Whitehall so don't be surprised if this all pre-planned
It was all scripted. It makes me happy to see Steven Seagal laugh at his own expense. The reason he’s so hated n clowned is the same reason trump was. Because neither could laugh at themselves.
@@jamesdoakes4956 yeah I get that he's extremely arrogant and self-centred but I'll always respect him and support his movies. Also, in recent times, I've noticed that he's become able to laugh at himself and I feel like he has become more self-aware which is good!
Steven needs to more of these kinds of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” type vids or episodes. It’s hilarious. And perfect for him and how serious he takes himself.
You should all watch the link to the interview with Whitehall in the pinned comment on this video. Seagal did not tell him he planned to throw him in the water.
Either way it doesn't matter he didn't have to go into the water but he would have done it if it was planned or he would have improved when Steven made the move
@Ryan Lewis I'm like the attorney Jacob, I am a real person. And I'm just a comedy nerd. I read comedy books, I've taken a college class in comedy, and I fucking love it. What I've noticed is a lot of comedy is repeated, so when you get something unique like this, it's really cool. I think I was also stoned when I wrote this.
Say what you want about him; this man was one of the great action stars of the late '80s and 90s. We never got to see a Steven Seagal / Van Damme movie.
I swear this man has more haters ....lol I've yet to see anybody step to seagal in the 75 yrs this guys been swaggering around the world , and believe me I'm sure hundreds have tried to be the man that kicked seagals ass ..... But yet 60 yrs later .... No video of that ever happening.... I'll stick w snipes ..... " don't get it twisted ..... Seagal w fukk u up " !!!
He was action movie star. And he is. His movies go up to 2018. And also. He is 7 dan in aikido. And people think its fake due yo few viral videos. Seagal is in his 70s and he actually could KO most of idiots.
@@vitkomusic6624 He is definitely the real deal. He didn't compete for championships like Dolph lundgren ,Van Damme, or Chuck Norris but he is a martial arts expert.....
My favorite part is when Stephen sizes up this dude and says “Can you run fast?” and then after the response says “Yeah, let’s just leave it at that.” 😂
Even though, I agree with you in a sense, I think he was a bit faster in his prime. Let's also cut him some slack, he is 70 and has some health problems, too.
