Omg, why do I always see this f**kin copied & paste to every comment section that involves Seagal...? (It was funny the first 37 times reading it...but now, it's finally getting old 😉😜😂😂😂
Knowing is one thing actually delivering is another. I also learned mixed martial arts and unarmed combat from age 5 and trust me besides having sent quite a few people to their dentists and GPs by age 12, in street fights, I ended in jail at 18 for having caused grievous bodily harm to another bully who assaulted my aunt. Fighting is not about how much you can knock down guys easily only, most importantly you have to learn to control pain and keep your focus especially if outnumbered six to one or more.
When I was in Taekwondo, we were always asked to watch Van Damme's kicks for inspiration. There is a beauty, a finesse, an elegance in his kicks which anyone who has been a student of Karate, Shotokan or Taekwondo would immediately recognize as nothing less than ideal.
If you're a student of Taekwondo and they're telling you to watch Van Damme's kicks LOL I would EXIT that school immediatley!!! They are pretty and "stretchy" but you aren't supposed to kick like that anyways lol Even kickboxers barely kick like that
I'm Belgian and i speak for all Belgians when i say that we're very proud of Van Damme. He's a true artist and a great human being and has tons of respect for his fans. Btw, who's Seagal again?
Van Damme knows that his whole job is to be fun to watch. He puts on a performance every time and has the physicality and smarts to know how to make a tense action scene. Seagal....can't. He's out of shape and a dumbass so his scenes have to be super contrived to let him win without actually trying.
Yeah, portraying a bully-like character in films is fine, because a dark-spirited 'Hollywood' cop who makes their own rules is entertaining, but offscreen he appears to be just as full of himself, if not more so.
Very good comment. Fortunally good martial Artist in generell exactly like that. Its so much hard work and pain to become good martial Artist. In generell they are in worship of heroism fore a better world wich includes protektion.
@@bluepuppystudios3617 he was asked about Bruce Lee and I remember him kinda being deflective about who was better. He never insulted Bruce but he implies that they were equals.
"Jean-Claude retired from martial arts in 1982, following a knockout over Nedjad Gharbi in Brussels,Belgium. Jean-Claude posted a 18-1 (18 knockouts) Kickboxing record, and a Semi-Contact record of 41-4. He came to Hong Kong at the age of 19 for the first time and felt insured to do action movies in Hong Kong." What bothers Steven is the fact that Van Damme achieved more by the age of 19 than Steve will ever achieve in his whole life.
Finally someone understands the deeper meaning behind seagel words. Thank you brother. Van Damme is a legend. Never got the big Hollywood recognition he deserved. Fckng disgrace Hollywood 😄
@@user-gl7zq5hd7d I grew up watching Van Damme and I even decided to learn Taekwondo because of how impressive he was on and off the screen. But, unfortunately, it's not Hollywood's fault for what happened to him, it was actually the opposite. He got very famous very young and just wasn't able to handle that life style. He started doing cocaine, to a point where he would spend 10k a week on it. That plus a bipolar disorder made him unstable and dangerous. Even though he still claims Hollywood was paying him less than actors like Jim Carrey, I do believe that if it wasn't for the drug and his disorder, today, he would still be performing in the big screen.
@@bpd8426 yeah Gene Lebell. Seagal denies it obviously... He also claims he trained Anderson Silva front kick 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Fun fact: Seagal drove a tank through someone's home, while shooting a movie, and killed their pet. This guy is ridiculous.
Best method joker of our time. More likely he stayed in acting just to make money. Yet his movies were never in the top 10 in that year of making. I don't think he has any movies that were in the top 10 at any year..
Participating in competitions doesn't make you a true martial artist, Steven uses techniques from the samurais that are banned in competitions, he could kill anyone in 1 hits, the fact that he asked people that trash talked him to fight him without cameras, no money or audience, noone accepted, because they know they will lose.
@@ESPirits87 lol Both Wrong. Akido gets wrecked you dont even seem to know it and judo came from the same source. He would not last 5 seconds in a kick boxing match.
Lol so you don't watch mma or muai Thai etc. Let alone people who practice lethwai or real karate or taekwondo. Steven Segal wouldn't stand a chance especially against people like the God of muai Thai. Buakaw
Not true. He's mastered Aikido's most ancient and deadliest technique of all, which is the masterful control of breathing. Controlling your breath is important in martial arts. In theory, the perfect style would allow one to relentlessly attack until the opponent breaks. Of all the years Steven Seagal has been practicing the respectable aikido, he found out that donuts were the perfect food for unlocking the ancient aikido breathing technique. He ate so much sugar from the donuts that his feces hardened, widening his butthole everytime he went to the toilet. This allowed him to breathe through his butt. His gasping is just a trick for opponents to think that he's open, but he's actually always on guard.
Me too...and I keep telling people that back then his movies seem awesome (that's why hollywood made lots of them).it was after the internet come out that people realized how shitty the guy was, then they went back and watched his films and SUDDENLY the scales fell from our eyes
Seagal hasn't seen his dick in 30 years. Van damme is to this day a powerhouse and crazy awesome guy. Reaching out to fans and being a good guy. Seagal is a pompous blub tard.
Wow, look at those pics at the end! Look what the feed are doing. So precise, so beautiful and impressive. Apparently he was very good in ballet, one of the best ballet ensembles wanted him as a solo dancer back then. This is what sets him apart from others imo. There's an elegance that others didn't have.
In 2008, Sylvester Stallone declared to the British magazine that "At a party in my home in Miami in 1997, Van Damme was tired of Steven Seagal claiming he could kick his ass so he offered Seagal outside into my back yard." According to Stallone, Seagal made his excuses and left while Van Damme tracked him down at a nightclub and challenged him again. Stallone finished by stating "Van Damme was too strong. Seagal wanted none of it."
Lol that's funny. Did you also know that Van Damme was posted up outside of Stallone's house when he did rocky. He literally was waiting for him outside of his house to show Stallone his skills.
@@davidmajor1508 Which story? The one One Day You May posted has been backed up several times by those in attendance at Stallone's party. Keep in mind he's friends with both them which gives his account more credibility.
I have met Seagal before at one of his gigs many years ago, he IS an asshole I can confirm this, I didn't like him, bad vibes and I could tell he didn't like me
The guy has the same birth date as my brother, 10th of April, an Aries - he is a fuckin asshole, you wanna punch and kick the fuck out of him Tough guy with his Aikido, walks away from a square go/fight from Jean Claude van Damme (A real fighter) my money would be on van Damme, van Damme would have kicked the shit out of him, yet van Damme is such a decent and humble guy
@drealmerz7 z he said he'd "squash van damme like an ant" and everyone just knows that's a pathetic joke. Nothing about that envelops the spirit of martial arts and it's just funny coming from the hopeless narcissist with no real accomplishments.
In fairness in the Arsenio interview Seagal intially tried to ignore then move on from the question. He then reluctantly got in to it. Seagal is a tool and delusion in a lot of ways, but he isn't wrong about Van Damme. Van Damme got the shit kicked out of him by a bouncer. His kickboxing record was exposed in a 1997 trial as a work of fiction, and JCVDs own legal team didn't refute it. Van Damme was a great athlete who got his great flexibility from a combination of genes and Ballet training, he said his ballet training was tougher than any karate he did. He was a good action star. But he wasn't this badass martial artist in real life who could destroy almost anyone.
@@PaulieAFantoneJays19 ha ha no bud. I just don't get why people dogpile Seagal but then give Van Damme a pass, and act like he is this bonafide tough guy. He isn't. They are both cut from the same cloth. By all means dogpile Seagal, but let's not pretend Van Damme is any better.
I just checked Van Damme record. Between 1977-1982 he had 19 Kickboxing matches and won 18, all by KO! 48 karate matches and won 44. He only lost 5 matches in his entire professional career. That's 93% win rate which coincidently is the same amount of calories Steven Segal takes in from doughnuts.
Wasn't Seagal proven to be a fraud? He claimed to study under a famous martial arts instructor, but the timeline didn't add up(making the claim utterly impossible), or something like that.
@@chrisw4373 There's plenty of theories on him being a fraud. None that I know of that are actually true. He has lied about plenty of crap throughout the years, but he is an experience Aikidoka and taught in Japan for years. That much is true. The rest, who knows. Love his older movies, dislike him as a human.
220volt74...yep, you cheated by using actual facts, lol...my brother went to Belgium for business...they have a statue of van damme there, so they must be proud of the guy. I mean, I dont have one, ha!
You've got to give Segal credit, he is always acting like he's tough and is a 'master' of everything. He never saw the Internet coming, the thing that exposed all of his lies.
Yeahh, I think so.. Too many marketing around him, he was a genius, a good guy but I feel that a sign of a real martial artist is always wisdom, attitude, education, humility. Now you can see only disrespect everywhere. The cage is the final test for them,, I prefer a fake master but centered, and giving real values of life. Any idiot can buy a gun and do a better work in that cage. Haha 😂 😂 😂
@@ArtVandelayOfficial brother Van Dame was ACTUALLY fighter -have records in kickboxing... This huy Seagal was movie star- it is diferrent story.. Seagal is master in Aikido- but no real fight in aikido, only practice...
Lol good one dude, steven had his days off fame,he was a great fighter he had his own style. But he shouldn't think he was the best out their cause he's not even close.
When he said "can i laugh at your face" when asked about Michael jai, i got little triggered. Like cmon he has 7 or 8 legit Black belts. Michael would snatch ur head off.
as Aikido doesnt allow intentional fights or even competitions. At all. That was set by its inventor and sEAGAL AS A teacher who taught even in Japan can never break this rule...but you haters dont take care for detailes... as you know a shit about it 😂
Seagal is awesome. I'm from England and I'm so glad Steven has helped set up MIR (Movement of International Russophiles) last year. I want peace with Russia. Not enough anti war voices at the moment.
@Igor Bosnjak Later that day, Van Damme knew that Seagal went to a club. Van Damme went there and challenged Seagal again and he HID! for Hours! until Van Damme finally left.
I'd love to see him locked in a cage with an MMA fighter. His fat ass would most likely be turned into sushi. Or how would he accept a challenge like that? Send one of his 20 lookalike stuntmen into the ring? :D

Even if Steven had Bruce Lee abilities in terms of fighting, still no one would like him because he is too jealous too arrogant , people don’t like that. Van Damme on the other hand is the man, a real martial artist and respectful humble man. Van Damme already wins.
Honestly, when it comes to almost any kind of Steven Seagal videos on RU-vid, I come almost solely because of the comments. 90% of them literally have me laughing out loud! 🤣 Keep it up, y’all! 🤣
Jean-Claude Van Damme: He earned his black belt in Shotokan karate at 18. From 1976 to 1980 (age 15-19), Van Damme compiled a record of 44 victories and 4 defeats in tournament and non-tournament semi-contact matches. From 1977 to 1982, Van Damme compiled a record of 18 victories (18 knockouts) and 1 defeat. Van Damme was a member of the Belgium Karate Team when it won the European Karate Championship. Van Damme placed second at the Challenge Coupe des Espoirs Karate Tournament 1st Trials. At the 3-day tournament, Van Damme defeated 25 opponents before losing in the finals to teammate Angelo Spataro. Michael Jai White: Holds black belts in seven different styles: Shotokan, Taekwondo, Kobudo, Goju Ryu, Tang Soo Do, Wushu and Kyokushin. He won 26 martial arts titles, including U.S. Open, the North American Open, and he was the New England Grand Champion. Chuck Norris Has a 3rd Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. He has a 10th degree black belt Chun Kuk Do, a 9th degree black belt Tang Soo Do, a 8th degree black belt Taekwondo, a 5th degree black belt in Karate, and black belt in Judo
I always thought Van Damme was a very impressive athlete. Masculine & respectable. I can’t say the same for a lot of the action actors of today compared with the classics of that era.
Vandammed is one of the best kickers he may even be the king of all kicks. Steaven Seagle said I don't know Vandamme!. Ok. Has any of you seen Steaven using Kicks in his films. The Answer is no. So how is he a martial artist? Only boxing and knives.
Even if they were on the lame side. They followed that Rocky trope to the fullest. JCV would take an insane amount of punishment then come back and win. Acting never improved.
@@csd8204 JCVD the 2008 movie, he acted the hell out of that. His 90s stuff is mostly pretty cheesy, I'll admit, but ever since JCVD, he's been stepping it up.
for the fact that jean claude van dame was pro and was a pro body builder who was at one point was 0 percent body fat means that not only is he bloody strong but he could also have a lot of really powerfull punches and kicks and what ever else he might do. compered to stylish hand bending and take down which you need to be able to get a hold of someone to do
I love his older movies but he am arragont prick. Jeff Speakman would annihilate him in a fight. His martial arts is crap and wouldn't even remotely work in a real fight.
I dont think "hate" is what I have for him, thats a strong word but with all due respect he has become one of the biggest laughing stocks in the MMA world and knowing he is this way just doesnt make me feel bad for laughing at him tbh
Stallone said he once invited Seagal and JCVD to his house and Seagal was bragging on how easily he could defeat Van Damme so JCVD asked him to step outside and prove it and Seagal didn't want to go for it so I think that says it all.
Seagal doesn’t have anything good to say and very jealous of Van Damme success. Personally Jean Claude is humble guy and made better movies than Seagal.
Agreed. Hard Target alone is better than anything Seagal has done imo. Then there's gems like Sudden Death, Cyborg, Lionheart, Kickboxer, Bloodsport. Far more entertaining than Seagal's films where he is in God mode most of the time against the bad guys.
aikido isn't bullshit by any means. It's foundations in jiu-jitsu are very real. It might not win any UFC main events but when push comes to shove, it will take down a less experienced person everytime.
Have you seen Segals movies? He lazily dodges punches by slightly moving his body and his head left and right, calls that Martial art..I remember when Joe Rogan told a story about Segal getting Choked out by Gene Lebell on his podcast. Segal is a punk.
The Arsenio Hall interview appears to be from a point in Steven Seagal’s hair where he didn’t need a toupee but he added to his real hair with black paint or powder. I’ve never seen that exact era of his hair before, only the natural hair from _Above the Law_ and the toupee years. I miss when he had a ponytail
