Stevenson is a quiet little town on the Tennessee River in northeast Alabama. Here is its public park which is suitable for camping, fishing or just kicking around. No talk, no music, just a few minutes of quiet solitude.
So still. It's like (almost) everything is just waiting. As though much of creation knows, "It's too early to be this warm, let's just take it easy..." We did, finally, get a day of rain here in Iowa It was probably less than an inch most places, but it for certain made things greener. In case you can't tell, weather's important here in Iowa.
Yeah it is. I remember driving across Iowa once in a 1978 Mobile Traveler motor home (Dodge van chassis), following and camping along the Des Moines River. At one point we hit a pretty bad storm. That old van was listing to the side from the wind, and it was raining so hard that water was coming in around the windshield. That was a good trip, though. We went to Black Hills, across Wyoming and south across eastern Utah. I had an HF rig on board and ran across some guys who had a ragchew net on 160. Not many people ever work 160 mobile!
@Possumliving I was having trouble envisioning the Dodge van with a 80 meter wire whipping along behind it. ;) Maybe with a big balloon keeping the distal end aloft?
