I hope people realize Stevie’s impact. Nobody was runing routes like this before Stevie. It’s the reason we see Davante Adams, Keenan Allen & Justin Jefferson run routes the way they do. Stevie Johnson opened that door to then future generation of WRs
Although I agree Stevie was one of the great route runners but he was doing everything that Chad Ochocinco already set in stone. Chad was the best route runner of this generation.
@@antwanr5058 I agree with you but Chad did it on god given talent, quickness, start & stop ability. Stevie did it from a basketball perspective. Almost like a crossover in basketball kinda way. In the same way we see Keenan Allen & Davante do it. Keenan & Tae aren’t as quick as Chad, they do their work in deception, a lot like Stevie Johnson did
To those rushing to defend Revis, it’s football! Every Hall of Famer has been beaten at some point. A lot of them even had objectively bad games at different points in their career. Revis had textbook fundamentals, was very strong for a CB and was a great athlete. Johnson beat him with unconventional route running to go along with a 4.46 40 at 6’2”, 210lbs. Not to mention Fitzpatrick had great timing and accuracy on some of these throws.
78 yards isn’t really losing. This gets overblown because no one else got could do this. Even this game is the highlight for Stevie Johnson against revis.
Yeah his hesi was killing Revis. the last 2 wide open passes were sad. Revis was clearly tryna keep him in front and was trying to not get embarrassed with a clean double move deep. But it cost him cause Stevie was jittering him to confusion anyway. Looking like when you try to chase your dog
Stevie won but that shows you how GREAT Revis is. 8 catches 75yds and 1Td. He didn’t even get 100yds. Beat him on slants and comebacks. Nothing over the top. CB the toughest position after QB. Giving up only 75yds is usually a W for the CB. This the NFL this not highschool or college. Others giving up 100-200yd games to WRs. 75yds really ain’t nothing !
@@EshDerp1425_Monke 75 is straight and yu do get 1200yds if you are consistent. But in a league built for offense. Where someone can’t touch u after 5yds. Where pass interference is changed from a 15yd penalty to a spot foul. When someone is moving backwards when are natural body movement is facing forward while moving forward. He did a good job didn’t give up 100yd+. I guarantee Stevie wanted 100+ that’s something to brag about
I cant lie, Stevie got the best of a Prime Revis right here. But Revis still held him to under 100yds & couldve probably prevented that TD if he would've played press instead of off
