SRV was like a second coming of Robert Johnson. His ability to channel the infinite in improvisation is beyond rare - the unobtanium of talent.

He started playing at 7 or 8. Started playing in bands at 11 or so. Became professional at 17 or so. Life by the Drop is one of his best acoustic songs. MTV Unplugged was pretty damned hot, too.

He's not old in that clip, and he said he'd been playing 22 years. That's how you get that fluid on guitar. He has literally done nothing, but be a guitarist. 100%. Even the greats like Eric Clapton, and B.B. King were absolutely blown away by his constant flow in his songs. I'm glad I grew up listening to SVR. He takes ya on a journey. A similar quality of Tool. ...ok probably the first time I've ever made that comparison, but I'm sticking to it. 😆

He was a prodigy. His older brother used to get mad when he would play his guitars. They had an amp in their bedroom closet. Check out Lenny live from El Mocambo. It's absolutely beautiful.
