I listen multiple times - the first always for Stevie, and then for Chris and Tommy. Chris is so tasteful with perfect time and selection, while Tommy keeps the heartbeat so soulfully and beautifully. They were perfect.
a rare combination of absolute technical mastery, a sense of soul that either u got or u don't and a musically appreciative audience a bit like a jazz bar atmoshere
I saw Stevie and B.B. KING at an amphitheater in the Bay area; the Concord Pavillion to be exact. That gifted man made love to his guitar and there wasn't a dry pair of panties in the place! I kid you not.
I saw SRV at the arts and science auditorium in Laramie Wyoming in 85, then again at Fiddlers Green in Denver shortly shortly before he died. He is a legend
Oh my god! I’ve watched this perform before but I didn’t realize it was his 2nd attempt. God I wish I knew what he said to the crowd and what he heard that made him wanna start all over. Sounded perfect to me but Stevie knows what he likes and the sound he’s looking for
This performance by Stevie is just so very, INTENSELY(!!!!!) mellow as to melt this old man's heart! There is no musicianship today that can come close to comparison. I saw/listened to a tribute to Stevie that included Eric Clapton and others. They didn't come close to Stevie, none of them! RIviera Paradise, Lenny, and his rendition of Little Wing are must hear for everybody out there!! They are for me.
Omg amazing!! But that was Stevie ❣ It recently dawned on me that SRV & Double Trouble didnt do Live Aid - wonder why he wasnt asked...the best venue for blasting their perfection out! Maybe Bowie had a hand...just a thought.. A tragic loss and the whole band was so tight they were amazing...great upload...we're lucky to have so many live performances ❣🌼🙏🇬🇧
I just saw another video and the intro was louder. I started watching this video and was wondering why the volume was lower so I think you may be right and he needed it for his harmonics and etc I am sure.
not true. he apparently wrote the song the same day/night he received the guitar. maybe certain sections are floating around sure but the song was totally finalized from what I understand
@@benji6229 I heard that to. I believe that was the guitar Lenny and a few of his other friends chipped in to get for him. Either way, I Like to see musicians working their songs out on stage in front of an audience shows extreme confidence.
There is a version that you can find on RU-vid of him playing Lenny at the Rome Inn in 1979, it’s almost completely different in style. Surely and took some years to get it all in line
