To All you people wondering why he stopped and restarted : I know it's hard to believe now, but back then ACL was important. It was for real music by real musicians and if you got to play there - you damn sure brought your A game. SRV was not a star yet, this was still part of his 'big break' and he wanted to make not only a good impression but to live up to those that he'd seen on ACL up to that point. It was a MUSICIANS show, not crap like SNL or Solid Gold. So SRV was nervous, and you can tell he was not happy with his performance... so he stopped and restarted hoping to do it better. SRV on his worst day was better than anyone else at their best... but he didn't realize that. And god love him... he gave his all to us every time he played. Still, without question, the greatest loss of life in the history of music.
This show is discussed in Texas Flood. Stevie was in the midst of a bad bender and was very nervous about this performance, had mild stage fright. He didn't think it went well at all when it was done. Obviously it was quite great as usual
Every guitar player out there can u keep that ferocious playing going for 7 minutes straight, I know I can't and he's on guage 13s. Absolute beast incredible
I keep watching Tommy , he sees, where Stevie Ray, is at , on the 🎸, then Tommy plays his notes, accordingly..amazing how they together as a team, can read each other like a book.. Awesome 🙏🎶
Stevie Ray Vaughan, phenomenal electric guitar player and singer ..great band which became Double Trouble and a success..never be forgotten..RIP Stevie..2021into 2022..
What was wrong with the first one here? He left out a couple licks but that's why I love watching and listening to SRV live. Never played a song the same way twice.
It's kind if like when he played Life Without You on MTV and stopped abruptly after making a minor mistake. I had to back and replay it twice to see how he messed up. I wish he had started the song again because he was killing it on that 12 string.
Our beloved old super bands and stars are fantastic. However, it is also a fact that in recent years, measured by the TOP 50 hit lists of the largest music markets in the world, no human musicians were involved in more than 80% of the songs / hit recordings. And the computer-generated sound is still on the rise. So let's all support young musicians who make handmade music. Only if we buy their records, DVDs and merch do we enable the young bands and musicians to turn their passion into a profession and also to be able to make a living from it. The ROCK N ROLL is crying out for help folks...🤘🎸🎹🎷🎤🎺🥁🤘.
