Never seen your channel until I saw that you were reacting to Stevie Ray Vaughan and being a Stevie Ray fan for over 40 yrs I had to watch GREAT REACTION. Stevie Ray said his brother Jimmy Vaughan how is a great guitarist In his own right and had a band called The Fabulous Thunderbirds got an electric guitar when Stevie was 7 yrs old and he loved it, on Stevie Ray's 7th birthday he got a guitar with cowboys on it but he loved Jimmy's electric guitar so he played it while Jimmy was gone. When Jimmy would get a new guitar he would give Stevie his old one, when Stevie heard a Muddy Watters record he said he was hooked on the Blues. Stevie Ray was in his first band called Cracker Jack but the vocalist wanted them to wear makeup and obviously Stevie Ray left the band that day, he was in another band called The Chantones with basses Tommy Shannon in school but they broke up and went their separate ways. In 1977 he put a band together called Triple Threat Reuve with Lou Ann Barton vocals, drummer Freddie Walden, Bass Jackie Newhouse, Johnny Reno Saxophone and of course Stevie Ray guitar but in 1979 Lou Ann Barton left for a solo career and the band ended. In 1980 Stevie Ray wanted to put another band together and basses Tommy Shannon joined the band and Chris Layton drummer joined a couple of months later then in 1985 Reese Wynans keys joined and Stevie Ray changed the name to Double Trouble. In 1982 Stevie Ray and Double Trouble recorded their album Texas Flood in November in 3 days and it was released in 1983, his career only span 7 years and in that 7 yrs he was inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame, in 2000 he was inducted into The Blues Hall Of Fame, he won 6 Grammys, 10 Austin Music Awards, 5 W.C.Handy Awards ,Entertainer Of The Year, in 1983 he was Best New Artists and in that same yr he won Best Blues Artists Awards,, he also won Instermental Of The Year and in 2015 was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in only 7 years WOW! Stevie Ray always said that the biggest influence in his life was always his brother Jimmy Vaughan and then all the great Blues artists after that like B.B King, Muddy Watters, Booker T.Jones, Buddy Guy and of course Albert King who was actually Stevie Ray's godfather. August 27,1990 in East Troy Wisconsin Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Clay, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Vaughan played a show at The Alpine Valley Music Theater, after the show Stevie Ray boarded a helicopter that crashed into the side of a mountain right after takeoff and Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed instantly, it was a sad day for many fans and other artists who loved and respected him. Stevie Ray Vaughan will always be The GOAT imo. Sorry about the very long comment but I get a little carried away talking about Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Thank you for taking the time to give us the history lesson! I remember my Mom telling me that Stevie was killed in a helicopter accident😔. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy live on forever!

I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. It was so foggy after the show that we stopped and got a hotel on the way home. The next morning when I heard the horrible news was one of the saddest days of my life. RIP SRV 🎸🎶🎵🎶

He changes guitars in the beginning to the white guitar which he worked on with Charlie Wirz. With The guitar was named Charlie. He looses his tooth towards the end. Thamks for playing this. Stevie almost lost his life in Europe on the fall of 1986. He went into rehab at the same time as his best friend bassist Tommy Shannon. When Stevie got sober in this song he yhamked God he was alive and well enough to be with them. Tommy always wanted people to know that as great as a guitarist as Stevie was he was even a greater man gentle. humble and generous. Stevie helped many people quietly to sobriety including Bonnie Raitt.

I've heard some musicians say that they don't know where the creativity comes from, that the music already exists and they just get lucky enough to know how to channel it. Lots of people can learn how to play music, but far fewer can translate it. SRV was one of the chosen ones.

I was there the night that Stevie died in the crash. It is still the foggiest night I've ever seen. The copter went into a ski slope. The ticket was Robert Cray, Stevie Ray & Eric Clapton. Stevie's brother, Jimmy (Fabulous Thunderbirds) sat in with him. Buddy Guy sat in with Clapton. For Eric's encore, all 5 came out to jam together for another hour. The last song Stevie Ray ever played on stage was Sweet Home Chicago. Odd thing that is where his copter was flying to when it went down

Did you notice the guitar change early in the song? Stevie had his guitar tech run out a white, strat-style Danelectro with lipstick tube pickups because that particular guitar was made for Stevie by Charley Wirz of Charley's Guitar Shop in Dallas. Charley is the friend he wrote this song for and Stevie wanted to play Charley's song on the guitar Charley made for him -- a guitar that Stevie naturally named Charley.

He didnt read or write music so he never played a song the same way twice. He played by tone. This video is a perfect example of him adjusting tone on both the guitar and amps, probably because of the guitar switch.

Still can't figure out what happened to make him trade guitars. Doesn't seem to be a broken string. All I can figure is either the entire guitar was out of tune, or the tuning "peg" was stripped. Maybe someone else knows. But man, change guitars, adjust pedals and amps to fit the lighter Fender, play behind your back, never miss a beat. Talk about professionalism.

Many think it was because Charley Wirz made that guitar (the white one named Charley BTW) that Stevie wants to play it during the song he wrote about Charley...
