He played this on 13mm strings, too. That's like playing on elevator cables. You'll notice he's playing on #2 as well; this is because he snapped a string on #1 during the solo to Look at Little Sister right before this. This man had HANDS.

Hunter Fontaine I'm not saying they should disrespect the other members of the band. But there's a time and a place to show them. The editing on some of Stevie's shows is atrocious. Like I mentioned in my initial reply, there's too many time where Stevie will be going absolutely crazy with a solo...but hey, let's show Chris when he's just playing along, or hey let's switch to a shot from the camera all the way at the back of the venue for a far away shot, where we can't really see anybody. Just blows my mind!

The man had a ridiculously unique awesome way, with covering other people sounds, and we making them as undeniably, SRV music, he is a benchmark or a very high bar that will always exist within music, and just like others to name a few Hendrix, Albert King, Buddy guy, miles Davis, Eddie Van Halen, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Winder, Coltrane, Django, you know…the innovators and legends of any genre - they are one of a kind and each helped propel their instrument & approach to music in general to a different era - hence, benchmarks - either way, SRV will never be duplicated or replicated ever again, and I’ll be damned if I will never stop wishing he had decided to take a huge tour bus or a shuttle to a much larger plane that night instead of a dang helicopter! Bill Graham died the same way, but to all the most important musicians - You have got to be more careful with air travel (the day the music died anyone?) ✌️🎸
