The most amazing thing about this is there was no rehearsal. I just read the 'George Michael: A Life' biography and had to look up this performance. It's even more incredible than described in the book. His voice was so soulful and gorgeous, and combined with Stevie, it is just a heavenly performance.
Sorry for writing you, just out of curiosity your page come up on my suggested friend lists so I was just wondering if I knew you from somewhere?!!!...
Stevie is Stevie. He never fails to outdo himself. George Michael proved that he can hold his own with anyone. He was a great adaptable talent. At times, he even sounded like Stevie. Wow! May he rest in peace.
Stevie Himself, Daft Punk and Pharell were backed by great musicians including Nile Rodgers in 2014 and considered the second best grammy performance ever after MJ's 93' performance.
George Michaels was such a beautiful person, but didn't know and believe it himself. If only he had a true friend, he'd probably would have still been with us. RIP
George is the only male artist with the amazing vocals able to pay due respect to Stevie's musical genius. This is one of the greatest live duets ever.
Knowing how much George admired Stevie’s music, it is just fantastic to see him perform next to his hero, and dare I say it absolutely hold his own in that duet. Peace out George.
IN THE WAKE OF WHATS GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY TO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF ALL COLOURS IN THE MOVEMENT LET THE WORDS OF THIS SONG BE A REMINDER THAT WE WILL GET THE RESPECT AND EQUALITY WE DESERVE,
The response of the audience was really important to Michael. That's why they applauded after his first prelude. They were convinced that "the boy can sing...."
THIS IS A SONG THAT NEEDS TO BE PLAYED EVERY SINGLE DAY, ESPECIALLY THESE DAYS, WITH ALL THE UNNECESSARY HATRED, EVILDOING & BITTERNESS, TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER IN THIS PRESENT WORLD / PRESENT TIME. THANK YOU STEVIE & GEORGE ( RIP, MISS YOU MUCH ). PRAYING FOR THE WORLD.
Stevie and Michael, two of the nicest humans to ever grace the earth. They are both genuinely nice human beings with wonderful hearts, souls, and voices. They are not about race or hate or anything but love. Why compare their voices, it's not necessary. Just like Rodney King said, "Why can't we all just get along?"
Not many British artist, get to sing with so many American music legends, like GM did, which goes to show just how good he was, and these legends knew this man had soul, and I'm sure were as keen to work with him as he was to work with them.
Stevie is not only a brilliant songwriter, but also a brilliant singer, so of course he is magnificent here. The amazing thing about George is the fact that he is NOT overshadowed by Stevie, as pretty every other white singer would be, but stands alongside Stevie perfectly. That's why Stevie respected George so much. An amazing accomplishment.
Two LEGENDS!!!!!! I'm so glad I was able to see George Michael in concert at Madison Square Garden. He was a PHENOMENAL vocalist!!!! Such a huge loss!!! Continue to RIP George Michael. ⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘
OMG, love George Michael he is so gorgeous. Love his hair like this, and his earrings. His voice is always so perfect, he makes everything he sings his. He is excellent live...one of the few performers who actually sing their way through a performance.
This is just an overdose of beauty. It's no use fighting back the tears, by the time you reach the end your vision will never stay the same. Only gigantic artists can do that.
I just love watching this performance and then watching the performance George Michael did decades later on his own f or a charity concert. It really demonstrates how much he has matured as a singer and demonstrates his vocal skills. He sings so beautifully. HIS voice over the years only became more fuller, and richer in tone and quality. It really amazes me since I knew he smoked. This can be very damaging to the vocal chords. HE was truly blessed with much talent. IT is a shame he died so young. I hope younger singers up and coming, especially those who are teenagers will NOT do any drugs, and NOT smoke too, and perhaps lengthen their lives. Once you have made it and people adore you, it really saddens them, when you die too young. RIP GM, and thanks to Stevie Wonder who trusted in this talent to invite him in to sing with him. Very awesome!
Beautiful duet!! People say he was a bit intimidated by Stevie but if they´ve listened to all George´s duets they´ve noticed George never tried to be better or be the lead one just "team work".He was respectfull. And as for Stevie....wow ..he is pure music from the age of 12 as i remember.
Incredibly talented artists . I still cry that For GM he has left us. Beautiful sm, authentic and genuine soul with true integrity. What a loss. Still cant get my head around his loss . His music was such an integral part of my life! Xxx UK 😇😇😇😇
everytime I hear this song it makes me cry. yeah I am a grown man but the context of the message and knowing true the message is is overwhelming. Thanks Stevie.
It’s a fact that George was as perfect as a man can be. One of the many things I love about him is his unique way of keeping time to the beat of the music. Nobody moved like he did. His voice is so beautiful and full of soul as he sings this song with Stevie. That mega-watt smile at the end melts my heart every time I watch this video.
So young and sharing the stage with such great artists only shows us what a brilliant singer he was n look at his thick bouncy hair ,sho cute.😘❤💋❤💋💓💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤👄
Beautiful message. great performance by Stevie Wonder & George Michael. Thats why I LOVE music, it is unirversal. ENJOY the performance. They get a standing ovation!
It was all stunning, everything . I absolutely adored .GM who has passed now and what a talent, what a loss! We still have SW who remains an incredible and beautiful soul to this today! July 2020.😇😇😇😇
It's really funny seeing how so many sighted 'artists' are struggling trying to read well off a teleprompter these days and then you see Stevie Wonder giving a speech that just flows out of him by heart.
To think that George was only 20, 21 when this aired live. His voice developed into a velvety, soulful, silkiness that no one else had. He delivered his vocals with tenderness, vulnerability, and passion that shot straight to your soul. A rare one of a kind talent, that wrote arranged and produced all of his music. Love him always! No wonder he had the respect of, Stevie, Aretha, Elton, Whitney, Frank Sinatra’s ( considered him the best voice of the 20th century) and countless other contemporaries. ❤️
Amen! Look at the tender reverence he has for Stevie. Musically, he was always humble, and very organic and giving in his approach. Funny how after Faith was released, as enormous as it was, it took a while for people to realize the depth of his greatness.
Miss George got to see him three times .we were lucky to get very front row tickets st the Albert Hall London and I remember feeling that he wasnt enjoying the show although totally professional he seemed tired, something wasnt right
GM was so young, amazing performance at such a young age.GM was still trying to find himself personally. He still was heavier here and the blonde hair. Thank you, Gm for letting us get to know you.
Music & any form of Art has no prejudice and no boundaries. Why can't Human Beings, us, learn from that??!!! God bless Michael...the world will miss you....xoxo
What a beautiful, unspeakable sentiment this song expresses. It leaves me speechless, and with so much joy and hope in my heart. George Michael is a perfect choice. I wish this were a longer version!
Wow. Came here by an article in the Rolling Stone Magazin. Never seen before. Two truely greats in their prime. And the song, a prayer, a plead, a hope. Thank you both.
