Stevie's gotta be the greatest overall talent in pop music. No one even argues bout his vocals. But great piano; drums; harmonica; the prolific songwriting; the overwhleming personality. Beyond "pro." The man's #1 all-time legend!!!
We are witnessing the greatest singer/songwriter,producer.arranger,multi-instrumentalist in the history of music! Stevie Wonder is the Bethoven,Mozart,Bach,Brahms,Duke Ellington of our time. Like Michael Jackson,Bruce Lee,Elvis,MLK,Malcom X,John Kennedy, & a few others, THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER STEVIE WONDER!! Stevie Wonder is the GOD of ALL Music.
My mouth is wide open and seeing thee master Stevie Wonder this close up made me wanna cry too. His beauty comes thru the music. I love his beauty. Thank you for this rare gift :)
I was doing a little Stevie tonight at home, particularly Live London '89. Stevie starts up on Higher Ground, and I'm thinking, What a rhythm machine Stevie's band is. Immediately, I'm asking myself, did Stevie ever play with Shiela E.? So thank you for providing such a beautiful answer, itsanutha. If it ain't anutha, it's sumpin' else.
@itsanutha : of course. i can see it. it happens between 1:14 and 1:29. this zooming in and out is obviously related to setting up a microphone. it usually is.
Wow! That song always did remind me of Steive, especially the concurrent Talking Book, with the Fender Rhodes melody/harmony. A lot of interesting covers and unreleased stuff by him is turning up these days!
Nat King Cole, Glen Campbell, Jose Feliciano, Ray Charges, Steve Wonder .. all great instrumentalist that never got their dues because of the success with singing.
