I loved it, I never got to hear Donny and Stevie perform together but this definitely quenched it. The daughter of soul is a great vocal beast and I know her dad would be proud
Lucky dawgs...oh my....I need to find some house parties like that!.."Oh, stevie and some firnds stopped by and he drummed up some Roberta and Donny"...oh my....and made a solo so supreme...Sheila- you're still a classic talent, too! Thanks for posting...classic people doing classics is always a winner of the mind, heart and sould- Peace and Love!
Maybe I'm overtired.... but I am in love with this. Donny would be so proud I'm sure of this jam still going on in 2009 - Stevie and Donny the original greats, and Lalah with outstanding vocal dexterity. it's real bliss to sit back and listen to.
I would bet that the people here criticizing the bass player don't play any instrument at all. He plays with a good groove. Nobody knows every song on call. It's a jam session for God's sake! It ain't gonna be perfect. But it is very good. (All of them)
Oh, snap! This is from Lalah's 40th birthday party, in 2008! I didn't think there was any footage from this! Stevie was KILLIN in that night! I had never heard him play like that, before!
love when all the girls sing background. i wonder if donny knows that even after this many years of his passing, his music is still bringing such joy to so many?
What the heck is this? Some kind of after-party I assume? There's no real stage. The sound's kind of odd. Whole things seems rather unplanned. Great stuff for rarity that's for sure.
this is too beautiful for words. this collabo was almost heavenly and meant to be. argubly, stevie channeled donny hathaway as early as 1969. both were very soulful & similar. worth hearing by donny is a strong live version of superwoman by stevie wonder that was unreleased for years until they put it on the recent "from donny with love" live cd.
I understand that they are legends and its a jam session however I am a musician and there are basic what we call standards in music that a serious musician should know anything from steve wonder or Donny Hathaway you have to learn its just a fact
Wow! This was awesome. Stevie took all the players on a ride and they stayed with him! Is that the original bass line of this song though? I recognize it from a recent sample but I never paid attention to it in the original "Where is the Love"
I'm still wondering to this day there's no cover album by Stevie doing these gems.. Anything he touches turns to gold. He has lot of unreleased songs thou. I'm waitiiiiiing 🔥🙏💯
Shame on the cat on his cell phone! DAMN! You've got LIVING LEGENDS in front of your face & your nose buried in your cell!?? Pssht, I would have GLADLY taken his place!
This video is awesome.......but uhhhhhhh........KILL THE BASS PLAYER!!!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!!! LEARN THIS SONG BEFORE GETTING UP THERE WITH THESE LEGENDS!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.........i cringed after he messed up the 1st time.......but he just kept on. #Yowza
My fat uncle was able to make the most beautiful pole dancer there is in my town fall for him as he ran the Cupid Love System (Google it). I wish I was excited for him but I want such a pretty girl to fall for me. I am exceptionally green with envy. Does that mean I’m a terrible person?
