Musically Thriller can’t come close to SITKOL, which is one of the most influential popular album ever created. Coolio became a star remaking Pastime paradise, Salome Baia was made popular with remaking Another star. What’s more, Stevie closed the his mega concert in 2010 at Glastonbury with Another star. Will Smith took I wish and used it for his Wild Wild West, which became a big hit. George Michael and Mary J. Bilge did As when Georgia was getting based in US. Basically SITKOL helped hundreds of musicians around the world to pave their way in music
Bought it the day the album came out in the early fall of 1976. A friend of mine who had the key to my house brought in a beautiful smiling woman who became the mother of my children. Hail Sir duke with the headphones on 😎
As an old blind guy, I enjoyed your take on this iconic music. Thanks. Way back in the 70s when I was a kid, I picked an old cassette recorder out of a dumpster. I put batteries in it and Shit Damn, the thing worked. The long play cassette in it just happened to be this album. I grew up hearing a bunch of Stevie's music, but in San Diego I never heard this stuff. To that point, rock was my thing, but hearing Key Of Life cooked my brain and expanded my world. I was obsessed with it, and after all these years listening to all kinds of great music, on my list of FOAT albums, Key Of Life still sits at a solid 2nd.
This album was released as a 3-record-set; two 12-inch LPs plus a bonus 7-inch EP titled 'A Something's Extra' (pressed at 33 1/3 rpm) containing 4 additional songs. I think Stevie invented bonus tracks.
8:45 Amen to this. Since you love the sound of "If it's magic" I recommend you to check out all Dorothy Ashby's albums. She's an amazing harp player and composer.
