Stevie literally did not put a foot wrong in this period, that run of albums in the 70's was close to perfect. No filler tracks, incredible playing and production, he had it all.

Every single song Stevie put out in the 70s in his golden album rush is amazing.

She absolutely loves this song, bless. I t was a joy to watch her sway to it, it's like a drug as it gets towards the end, enjoy.

If I may just add a note of criticism here, please don't pause when you're so close to the crescendo of a song, I must've skipped that part last time, even still I'm happy you enjoyed it. I first listened to this as a child (I'm 61) this was my older sister's album, and we loved playing this on our mums Radiogram when they were out. And thank you for the love 😍

Everybody on the 6th floor of my dorm at UCLA in 1972 had Talk Book playing in their room, or the little mobile hanging in their room, that came in the album.

You and I, carrying on where Superwoman's heavenly mid-song interlude and Seems So Long left off, are another supreme example of Stevie Wonder's art as a composer and balladeer, with his sheer melodic elasticity and elaborate and sophisticated chord changes timed at just the right moment to break one's heart. In this piece, Stevie believes that destiny has brought him someone to love and in whom he can find strength.

When my friends started getting married, this was the song that played for that first dance. It brings back such good memories!😊

Stevie at his best. Remarkable art. If only one could feel love enough to write such lyrics. Be well, you two. /M.

The reverb and echo on the vocals add another dimension to the whole recording. Following the songs You are the sunshine of my life and Maybe your baby, the first and second track on the album Talking Book, the reverb on his vocals for this third track You and I provided the listener with a twist, so to speak. When I first heard it years ago, my response was "Whoa, where did that come from"? It jolted one as a listener in a pleasant way much like someone hearing Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis for the first time. Just my opinion. Great track, great artist, great album, great reaction!

It was actually 5 albums. Music Of My Mind was released in early 1972, followed by Talking Book later in the year. Then came Innervisions, Fulfillingness' First Finale and, as you mentioned, SITKOL.

Yep you have those five classic Stevie Wonder albums, but he also came out with three other albums in the seventies. Signed, sealed and delivered in 1970, where I'm coming from in 1971 and Journey Through The Secret Life of plants in 1979. So technically he came out with eight original albums in the seventies.

@@jajuangordy4394 And let's not forget the two live albums he made in 1970 that don't really get any attention: "Stevie Wonder Live" and "Live at the Talk of the Town". Altogether that's 10 albums in the seventies. This man's done way more than we give him credit for.

@@elliotshawn3767 honest to goodness, I did not even know he came out with 2 live albums in the 70s, Stevie Wonder was truly Unstoppable in the 70s. I believe he also release a greatest hits album between songs in the key of life and Journey Through The Secret Life of plants that included some unreleased songs he made in the 60s, I know one unreleased song that was on that greatest hits album was until you come back to me that's what I'm going to do, which I also did not know his version was the original one because I only heard the Aretha Franklin version.

@@elliotshawn3767 yeah I didn't even know he made that song until last year and I especially did not know his version was the original one. I believe he originally wrote it for Aretha Franklin or was one of the writers of the song, but yeah it's definitely a great song. Surprisingly it was never released until that greatest hits album.

Just the perfect love song, that's all. Or, to paraphrase T. Capote, this song's only fault is that it's perfect...other than that, it's perfect

George Michael did a recording of this as a wedding gift for Prince William and his then bride to be Kate. George did it for free, just asking that if people wanted to, they could make a donation to a certain charity that William and Kate supported. 💜

There is nothing not to like in this song the whole album was a masterpiece. Nobody complained about any reverb or anything else when this song came out.
