Ronald Bons Scott other inspiration was none other than he's own Scott's man the fabulous (Alex Harvey band) straight out of Glasgow true Scott's man 🤘
@@benburndred2226 love it when these clowns in the UK try to claim AC/DC as their own. The world knows they always have been and always will be an Australian band!. It's just old school Aussie rock'n'roll
A very young Malcolm Young played the rhythm guitar parts on the record ... I played with Stevie briefly in the 80s , he was a mess but I got some great yarns from him
Stevie Wright, one of the greatest rock singers and frontmen, was a tremendously exciting performer. He had two careers, one as lead singer of The Easybeats and another following that band's demise as a solo performer. He was a big influence on Bon Scott and also on AC/DC's sound.
Do you know if stevie wright was the lead singer for the easybeats from the time that they started the band until they broke up in.1969....if he was replaced who took over the sing and why. What happened between Stevie wright and dick diamond. They said that they had hard filling for each other. Do you know if George young also had a form of dementia or Alzheimer's towards the end of his life. Was Malcolm young the only one with the illness. I hope that they are resting in peace together. I feel bad for their families. To lose one is sad, but to but to lose them both only one month a part. I just can only imagine the heart aches. Prayers for them all. 😢😢
If it were not for his welĺ known heroin addiction, he would have replaced Bon. Nobody is perfect. Doesnt matter how good you are, its what you do with what you have that matters.
It's impossible not to compare the vocalizing of 'I don't like trouble, but if trouble's the name of your game' with 'he made it out...with a bullet in his back' - 'jailbreak'. Can almost imagine its the same voice ;) RIP Stevie & Bon.
Why didn't they wait until Stevie got out of rehab to promote this album. Or they could have came to the USA to promote it.. No one here knew about his troubles with drugs and it might have saved him. Because his drug dealers wouldn't have been able to get to him. They could have let him apear on American bandstand with Dick Clark,or on the Ed Sullivan show. We had a lot of great shows that could have been a great help to him. And are teen magazine's would have put him on the covers. The teen-age girls would have been able to do the rest.
honestly i think his mates who were his promoters & producers gave up on him he had let them down a whole bunch in the past i feel they had enough ,,just my thoughts from what they had said about him in past interviews i think they were over it . .@@OldiesMomma
After hearing this song for the first time in 75 I never stepped back and NEVER backed down, got a lot of bruisers and missing teeth but I'm still here at 62
Vanda, Young Stevie Wright are Oz rock royalty. Cant half hear their influences more than this classic. ACDC and Bon Scott. Georges influence on Malcolm and Angus. All in ACDC are Easybeats reincarnated.
Jeezus frikken Christ on crutches. Never heard this track before. Stupendous. OMG AC/DCs whole career and Bon's whole schtick are built from this.Did this dude put out lps or only singles? Damn impressive. Kinda a mix of Bon,Phil Mogg and Marriott
He sure did, his original band The Easybeats had the Vandas in it, George Young (brother of Malcolm and Angus AC/DC) and Harry Vanda, check out The Easybeats
He was a prolific lyricist/songwriter. He and George Young wrote 99% of the Easy's early material. In England a record producer said his writing was not good enough and it sent him on a downward drug spiral from which he never recovered. When the Easys folded he ended up in his early 20's back in Sydney broke, and having to work in a mens wear shop to make a living. He had a come back and a national No.1 hit with Evie parts 1, 2, & 3, a 10 minute monster hit written for him by former Easys Vanda and Young. Stevie would have been the perfect replacement for Bon Scott in ACDC, but his drug problems had taken hold.
@@richardmulcaire3087 I agree with you that stevie wright was a great performer and song writer. But if he had been in acdc. We would not have heard of the song evie or any of his solo music.. and that would have been a shame. He just had to much talent to be not heard. When he went to get help for his drugs adction the rehabilitation center left him worst then I if he had just quit . They gave him electronic shock and deep sleep for days. He had to jump out of a window to get away from the doctors at that place. He was left with brain damage after that.. he was also a diabetic and didn't know it. His life story was very sad one.
I came here as he died last night and I love this song RIP. That is a Rock voice up there with anyone I think the Rose Tattoo cover of this did it justice!
What a bloody amazing gutsy piece of genuine Aussie rock, awesome, Stevie was brilliant in the Easybeats, he cranked it up to a new level with his solo work, Stevie had more guts/heart/rock and roll in his body than all the singers currently who say they are rock and singers, Stevie bled rock and roll! RIP you awesome singer.
I have to agree with you that Stevie wright was a very great 👍 song writer and performer 😂😂 . I think that he was the reason why the Easybeats was so popular it was his songs that George wrote the music to for. There songs were on the top of the music charts in Australia. It was his dancing and arobic jump's and back flips that made them famous. He has cute and sweet. It wasn't George young or Harry Vanda who was getting girls mailed to them. It was Stevie. The group should have been called Stevie wright and the Easybeats. Or more simply the The Stevie wright Band If it wasn't for Stevie there wouldn't be any AC DC or any other groups. He was the band
This song and clip influenced me so much. I was 12 and seen this on the ABC's music show GTK (pre Countdown days) and I was hooked. I realised that day what great stuff Aussie Rock was producing and I have now spent the last 40 years watching and buying the stuff. Stevie you were a legend RIP.
One of THE best back up bands on this clip that you could ask for - almost all of the All Stars band plus Kevin Borich Thats not a bad collection of musos at all!! Thanks Stevie - there were some great memories despite the bad we hear so much about
Stevie wright " blue print " for ac dc imet him 2 times! 1/ moore park sydney easter show sang in a tent spoke to him when show finished ! 2/ met him in his part time job at " mr john mens wear told him your " so lucky working here with the amazing clothes here 😉 he was such " a nice guy !"
Is there any more concert footage of.this concert on you tube channel anywhere.❤❤❤❤❤❤. I can not find any more concert s on stevie wright. Looking for it everywhere.😢😢😢😢😢😢
Mick Jagger, Bon Scott, you name 'em, all studied and copied this Aussie Legend. His performance is second to none. The True Original Rock N Roll Legend Frontman since the early 60's. R.I.P. Stevie xx
never been better nor will there ever be a close 2nd... cute cheeky looking guy turned drug addict but still looked doin it with 100% charisma till hes dyijng day .... the easybeats set the standard and tone 4 all aussies ... RIP stevie my bro xxx
I agree with you. And why.didt they come to the USA that would have been great. ❤❤ we American's have missed out on a lot.stevie wright was a great performer and the easybeats was just as good as any of the bands that came over with the other groups from the UK. R.i.p. .. stevie.we with always love you and your music..
Wish there was a poster of his final spin, where it freeze frames on the video! I’d put it on my wall like a thirteen year old girl......even if I am 67!!!!!!
Lol I searched stevie wright on RU-vid and the comedian Steven wright popped up. Too bad little stevie wasn’t given the success he deserved. He sounds a lot like bon Scott here. Both steve(ie&-n) wrights (the singer and the comedian) each made great art.
Those were the days! You could go to a hotel and be in a group of maybe 200 in total, right up against the stage: sprayed with the bands sweat, rocking on. None of the concerts nowadays up to 200,000 people it’s not the same. Saw the Angels at a little club of maybe 100 people, in South Australia you could see most of the bands with no difficulty
Try and watch a Aussie Movie called Red Hill ( 2010 ), cause the "bad guy" in the film, After he shoots the Publican , turns the Jukebox on , and out comes ......... Guess What ............ You Guessed it , and it Never Sounder Better !!!!! (BLB) I Loved it !!!
There's a handful of us out there who, if asked what their gallows song or Valhalla ride or desert island sunset song would be, would without hesitation say, "Little Stevie Wright, the Black-Eyed Bruiser." Of course. No question.
He was too much of a fuck up junkie. The Young's had had one of those. Why they went with Brian J. Bon Scott chose him, cause he KNEW his days were very numbered. But the Band mattered more
A very young Malcy played the kickass rhythm parts on this ... George apparently said ' think yerr good enough to hold down then ... ' I can almost hear him
