I feel Andrew may have been setting up a flight of the conchords joke, "like of the conchords they do our material, only slightly more popularly than us" until Stewart cuts him off "is there? Are you alright with that?" I am probably wrong, but that was where I heard that going.
Love the last bits about spree monger and flannel. Thing is, although his delivery is alright, one step back to think about your market and you realise that nobody is interest in, or wants to hear about, transvestitism. Two short jokes and its done, we cant relate after that.
Think about your market? The worst advice for any artistic endeavour ever. Make your own market, forge your own way, don't give me this make your own market rhetoric, it's so very feeble.
This guy is as funny as a ploughed field. The audience don’t laugh, they giggle neevously which tells me they don’t find it funny either. Maybe it’s more of an ‘experience’ for them. Or they somehow identify with him. Lord knows. So, see an Andrew O’Neill show, or have a bucket of iced water thrown over me, it’s the latter please as it would be over and done with quicker.
