Rebuild a Stihl BG 75 leaf blower. step by step replacement of the spark plug, fuel filter, fuel lines, air cleaner elements, and carburetor cleaning and reuse. It runs fantastic. Probably be good for another couple decades.
I hope you found that helpful. It’s great to be able to rebuild something like that and then they run great for a long time. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I have some dear friends in Australia and I’ve had the opportunity to visit their three times so far. It’s lovely and I look forward to going back. I’m glad you found this video useful. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
My Sthil BG55 was running terrible. Followed your video and replaced the carb, fuel line, fuel filter, and air cleaner. Very straightforward. Now runs like a charm! Thanks Dr. Joe!
Picked one of These blowers at my local auction for a dollar after watching your video I feel like it was not only a great investment but it is going to be a little bit of an adventure as well! Thanks for the video Doc!
thanks to your video I am going to try to fix my Stihl BG 75 blower myself. The shop around the corner wanted to charge me $200 to $300 to fix it. I will let you know how it turns out
Hello Darryl. Thank you very much for your nice comment. You’re gonna find the rebuild is actually a lot of fun and when it fires up, you’re gonna have a big smile on your face. I hope you find that video useful. Please give it a thumbs up and consider subscribing. Thank you, Joe.
Nice job. I just did the same thing to my Stihl weed wacker. Piece of cake, and it’s now running like a champ! I was surprised at how cheap the rebuild kits are and everything they include.
grouse repair mate cheers from Australia and i have the same looking leaf blower i think it,s from the year 1999 and mine,s beginning to run and basically it has excellent compression a nice and healthy spark and it will run on choke but as soon as you put it on half choke and then no choke it want,s to stall and then die on me and i have done a adjustment on the metering lever etc and no change in affect etc.
Thank you for your comment. You’re absolutely correct keeping the spark arrestor clean is important. I didn’t mention that and probably should have. Thank you again Joe
Thank you for your question. I think I turned it all the way in and then backed it off 1/2 I started with that high speed adjustment out about the midpoint.
Thank you for your question. The two recommended spark plugs are either the Bosch WSR6F or the NGK. BPMR7A, with a gap of .02 inches or .05 mm. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
Does anyone have any tips on removing the flywheel from the BG75? Seems to be different than newer Stihl products and I can’t find any info on it. Thanks!
Hello Austin. These curb kits are available online from eBay or Amazon. Just look up the model number you’ll find them. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
Hi everybody with this video here I own the exact model of this blower my question is when I run it and I put full throttle on it it wants to die has anybody got any suggestions on what could be wrong
Thank you for your question. Although I am not hey small engine expert it may be the full throttle setting for the needle valve. In full throttle floods the carburetor it’s too rich and it could cost stalling. The other possibility is the carburetor is not perfectly clean. I found the best way to clean carburetors to take them apart and put them in a heated ultrasound bath. Thanks for your comment I hope my comment was somewhat helpful best regards Joe
Yes sir I believe this link will get you the carburetor plus the rebuild parts that you probably need. Replacement Part for M.C 1 Set Carburetor for Stihl BG72 BG75 HS80 FS85 FS80 FC75 FC85 FS75-Trimmers Take that in under search in Amazon and you should find it Take care joe
I noticed Joe did not change the membrane in the carburetor. I've worked on many old Stihls, Echos, Craftsman, etc, and almost always the problem is the membrane. It gets stiff and will not pump like it needs to. I am currently working on an old blower exactly like this one, and discovered that none of the new carbs online match. (Just like Joe experienced). I will now try to rebuild like he did, but I will have to find the membrane because when I took the carb apart, the membrane is stiff. Joe got lucky. He didn't change the membrane, and it must have still been soft enough. (No disrepect, Joe. I came here to see if you found the right carb online. I noticed that acceleration was a little slow. I believe the membrane is beginning to stiffen a little.)
Very good comment made by you regarding the membrane. You were absolutely right probably mine actually speeds up a little more slowly than ideal. I may change that out. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
