I show you how to replace a short block on a Stihl Br 800 backpack blower. This engine was replaced under warranty due to a failure. I show you how to remove the engine and reinstall a new one.
Great video , you make it look pretty easy . Just did my first br700 . It was pretty straight forward . The only trouble was that I had bad news for the customer. Another piston pin seized . He said the price of a 25:35 new engine was too much ($650 in Canada ) He gave me the blower . Should I keep it or just garbage the rest . It's too bad .
Hello, mister!!!! The engine on the BR800 4-MIX is much different in weight from the engine that is on the FS131R lawn mower??? Both engines are -4 MIX!!!! Thanks in advance!!!
What causes the fan to slip on the shaft? The hot Arizona temps? Manufacturer deffect? I just purchased one of these and hope i never have this problem...bummer.
The main cause is the fan, there is a defect with the center bushing. Stihl has addressed the issue so you should be ok. Make sure your blower is registered with Stihl for warranty.
I have read that a leaky cracked muffler allows HOT air to enter fan and melt area around fan bushing? Did this muffler appear loose or cracked...i cannot remember without going back and watching video again.
I have an old style br 700. Recently the engine went out so I bought a new style engine but one screw doesn’t go in, can I mount it with just the 3 screws?
@@ricardobelmontes9699 Depending on their mark up it may be cheaper for a new blower. Not sure what the current list price right now. If you are going to do it yourself just tell them that and ask them to order you one. We do that for some of our customers.
@@cbnx82703 I’ve spent many many years honing my craft, customers pay for our experience. The whole idea is to do the work in less time than “book” time. We treat our customers right and charge them a fair price. We are not the cheapest but we stand behind our work and own our mistakes.
