I also did this conversion... local dealer had files but no chain. Also, I don't think stihl even makes hexa chain for .325 pitch. Only thing I did different than you was I used a flat file edge to flatten out the bottom of the gullet on all the teeth, then came back and cut in the profile with the hexa file. Cuts really well, but I think the file size is going to be too big for .325 chain as time goes on and I get towards the back of the teeth.
🤣Same here, dealer has the files but no chain. I bought a 3/8 20“ loop from ebay for around $50. I notice the Hexa depth gauges are shaped slightly different and thicker than other chain. Running it on an ms361 and it makes the bar nose happy, almost kickback imminent. I plan on mounting that bar on my 7910 to see if it is nose happy on that saw. I have run square ground chain and never had issues like this. In .325 that 23rs NK chain really performs! Happy with that stuff. Good thinking on flattening the gullet👍
At the start of the video you should have said that you’re using a Hexa file to change a regular chain into the Hexa profile. Those chains aren’t cheap though, so I see why you are just trying to convert a regular chain!
