In this video, I’m using my STIHL MS 261 chainsaw with an 18 inch bar to remove some trees and process some firewood. Basic cutting and tree felling. At the time of this video, I’ve only owned the saw for about a year. So far, it’s a great saw!

The 261s are great saws, never had an issue even when they get into the high mileage, they just keep going and are dead reliable. Also you would benefit by investing in some wedges.

Your channel just popped up as next in line to play and just subbed. Looked at some comments going on. Husky vs stihl is another ford vs chevy theory each to their own. Muffler modding wouldn't be a bad idea easy to do unless the muffler is crimped on that then its a bit of a pain. Those 261 are good saws,rock even better with some mild porting. if your going to he doing alot of firewood i would recommended running a longer bar and save your back from bending over alot and also safer if theres kick back also. As well maybe grt some wedges for where you can use them for falling, handy if you pinch a bar blocking up the logs too. Good luck with the adventure 🤘

550 and 261 very similar saws power vise. It is down to personal preference. I recomend simple muffler mod on 261 way more torque. My personal opinion two similar saws i go for the lighter one.

Dude a ms 170 will take those trees down...that saw is a beast...but yours is throw saw dust...your chain must be dull asf

Yeah chain was dull. I got the 2 in 1 sharpening system now, works pretty good.

I’ve only had this gas powered saw for a year. So I’m definitely not that experienced but so far I love the saw it works great for what I’m doing. What brand would you recommend? Thanks for the comment

@@JessesChannel That's awesome dude, I did a lot of my training with smaller Stihl saws, especially the 261 but as I progressed and eventually founded a company, I quickly realised that the Swedish know what they're doing. Best of luck to you mate!

@@JessesChanneldon’t listen to this guy. He has no clue what he’s talking about. I am very experienced with the big pro saws and have even built my own saws. I own a Stihl 261c, 500i, 661c, 661 that I built into a 100cc big bore with a pop up piston and ported and a Husqvarna 395xp. They are all great saws. Husqvarna doesn’t make a saw that can come close to keeping up with the 500i. It’s 15cc’s smaller and much lighter than the Husqvarna 395 and it still dog walks it mercilessly. And that’s coming from someone who owns them all and has years of experience using them and heavily modifying each one to get every ounce of power out of them.
