I went from a 520 to bolt to 1040 solar & wouldn’t go back. The 1040 solar seems to be generations ahead, lightning fast, touchscreen works extremely well in wet, dry & with gloves. Charge seems to last forever too .. approx 11 x 50+ Km rides & breaks per charge cycle. Love it 👍👍👍
Thanks for another enjoyable video. Been pretty happy with my 530 for a couple years now, it replaced the Bolt v1. Maps are a pain to use though and you can't even create a route directly on the 530 should you need to do that while you're out and about. You can use your phone but will then have to stop and record the activity (there are convoluted tricks with widgets to avoid that). All this to say I'll be waiting for the 840 especially since the new interface of the 1040 looks pretty interesting.
Thanks for making the video, funny as always. I got the 530 about 6 months ago but started to wondered if I should have gone with the 830 instead. I don't ride enough to justify something like 1040. Perhaps 1030 plus is a better option specially when there are lots of deals available for the 1030 plus. What do you think?
I’ve never had a bike computer before but the training options on Garmin seems attractive compared to wahoo’s offering. The thing is, is it something people even use or will it just be relegated to a best feature that I never touch? I hear the Garmin has delays in showing gradients which seems like a huge annoyance for me but also perhaps I’ll be too busy gasping for air to be noticing.
Hey. Did u already test the bryton s800 ? Or even the new igsport? I want to buy a new bike gps, but I want to make the best choice. Almost for marathon xc and long day rides. I don't know which one should I by!? The 840 could be a good choice, but i have to pay a lot money 😅. What u recommend?
After my second Garmin Edge 520 died unexpectedly I decided to try something different - the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt instead of the Garmin 530. Boy! I'm glad I did. ru-vid.comUgkxXZCtB-wGdHVTBSz8RswePK5vllHNi06N The display on the Wahoo Bolt is much easier to read. I like the configuration of the display more (up to 7 items visible on page 1 without scrolling and the first item chosen is larger characters than the next 3 rows that have pairs of items (still very readable). I also like the configurable item selections. The Bolt synced with my Garmin ANT+ Speed sensors on both bikes easily so no additional investment was required there. While the rated battery life is a couple hours less than the Garmin 520/530, I easily get a weeks worth of 1+ hour rides before recharging (and it's never really low on charge). At the end of a ride syncing to the Wahoo app, Strava, and Apple Health app is painless.
And which one measures with more accuracy? If you increase, or decrease your bike speed, which computer can follow the speed modification more quickly?
