One of the best game themes ever. Futuristic and strangely nostalgic at the same time. The notes soar, making it feel like you’re free-running effortlessly across the rooftops of the city. Love this theme.
this music burns me with great sadness knowing we will never be able to go back to the time when we first experienced this Piece of art of a game, and the time period when life was more full of adventures and Less focused on made up problems
I remember the nights after I brought this game home. The soundtrack will never leave me. I still listen to it all, nearly daily, even all these years later. You know when something comes along and changes you. This was one of those experiences.
This music make me feel like running through endless city to no destination, just like unstopable flow. Still do after all this years. I want to get back in 2008, when sun was brighter, people was kinder and world has been much nicer and warmer place.
wonderful song to sooth one's soul and gives the feeling of being on top of a tall mountain and staring over the beautiful green land with the wind blowing on your face. Gliding across the sky you fly, letting your troubles just pass by. This is truly one of my favourite songs to relax me
I haven't actually played this game past the demo, but something about this song just hits me with nostalgia and a sense of security in the future. It's as if it never left a place it never was.
If you ever do play the full game don’t pay attention to the story line. Just enjoy the beauty of the game. It’s wonderful. I love both titles. Catalyst is breathtaking. Both games are so smooth and fluid they make you feel like you are the one doing it
@@tristangriswell2034 The storyline is *fine.* It's very simple and straightforward, I wouldn't say it needs to be ignored but it's not remotely the focus of the game, it's something anyone could write for sure.
I have changed, I have changed Just like you, just like you For how long, for how long must I wait? I know there's something wrong Your concrete heart isn't beating And I've tried to make it come alive No shadows, just red lights Now I'm here to rescue you Ooh I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no Ooh I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no So silent, no violence But inside my head so loud and clear You're screaming, you're screaming Covered up with a smile I've learned to fear Just sunshine and blue sky Is this is all we get for living here? Come fire, come fire Let it burn and love come racing through Ooh I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no I've learned to lose, I've learned to win I turn my face against the wind I will move fast, I will move slow Take me where I have to go Ooh I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no I'm still alive Ooh I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no Ooh I'm still alive, I'm still alive I cannot apologize, no
when i found this instrumental a few months ago i knew nothing about mirrors edge and had only heard the name i just finished it today, god i love this fucking game so much
@@andro3041 Well, the memories are really really fuzzy, I barely remember anything except that i thought it was really cool lol. When I played it myself for the first time when I was around six to eight years old it felt so different because I had just remembered the entire thing differently.
The song swells up to the main melody which descends back to the bottom, like the song itself is taking huge, long breathes. Hence the title, Still Alive. This is one of the most life-affirming pieces of music ever written.
every time I hear Portal’s Still Alive in my head I go listen to it but immediately after the Mirrors Edge Still Alive gets in my head so I got to listen to them back to back lol
It is so nostalgic, you remember the times you won't get back, the memories, how easy life felt and the hopeful future you had. This song is a masterpiece paired with a masterpiece of a game.
It's crazy how this game was not just about rebellion in its game world, but also to us in general. A first person shooter with LITTLE to NO shooting, with parkour and navigation like a platformer. And this was made by DICE when they were huge on Battlefield and published by EA, one of the most diabolical publishers. It's such an anomaly in the grand scheme of the AAA gaming space, but it's a symbol of what modern games could've been: defiance. Defiance against modern conventions, defiance against the culture, defiance against corporatism. I miss those times, when gaming seemed like it could pierce the skies and only get higher. I can't remember a game that pulled this off quite like Mirror's Edge.
Dayum. Isnt this the best. Gotta love the too. I was just very afraid of not finding the instrumental version. The singer is nice, but its better without her...
this hits me right in the feels, but pair this song with the Half life 2 Beta mods Dark Interval or Raising the Bar Redux and you have an emotional opening scene.
This is my ex girlfriends favourite game. She doesn't know that I bought it so I could play it with her; she broke up with me before we could. I might play it again.
