Still Game was originally a stage show then they brought the characters in a row called Chewin' The Fat before making the series Still Game. Bobby the barman originally played Winston before Paul Riley came in to play the character. There's aa video on RU-vid or the one I'd their stage shows where's it just Jack Victor and Winston from around mid 90s it's a good laugh if ya fancy reacting to that or just for ya own pleasure 👍
"Gingies" in Scotland were what you would call in Canada "Soda Bottles". The makers of Irn Bru (Barrs) sold soda or "Ginger" as we call it in Glasgow in glass bottles. You could return them to the shops or Ice cream vans and get 5p back for them. As kids, we often took "Gingies" to the Ice cream van and exchanged them for sweets. We called them glass cheques where I grew up in Glasgow. :) Winston tried to use them to get a pint and a pie!!!
The guy in the magazine was called Richard Whitely, the very first presenter of Countdown. When Winston said, '8 out of 10 pensioners prefer it' he's paraphrasing an advert about 8 out of 10 cats preferring Whiskas cat food. Put them together and you get... 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown.... ta dah!
I’m a Scotsman who lived in Canada as a kid, I have family still living in Canada, we howl with laughter at this series, it’s utterly brilliant and so near to real life in Glasgow 😊
You certainly weren't expecting Isa to pull out her "wee doodah" as both of you were looking away when she pulled it out of the drawers. I just knew that bit would kill you! 😂Isa using Richard Whiteley as a "visual aid", I still OMG at that. 🤣 The cinema Jack and Victor are in at the beginning is called The Grosvenor, which is up a side alleyway. I went to the kids club there in the 80's on Saturday afternoons. I still remember "Chico The Rainmaker"! 🙃 Your reactions to this first series have been utterly golden, it's been a true joy to watch. Can't wait for the 2nd series! 😊
I went to the club in The Grosvenor in 80s too😂👌🏻 . I was just thinking, I seen The Never Ending Story there. I think the last time I went was to see Pulp Fiction when it came out. ✌🏻
@@YogiBhoy78 Oh no way! I seen The Never Ending Story there as well. 😂😊 They've refurbished it since those days, think it was about 20 years ago or so now. There's a restaurant and bar there now, looks all proper swish and swanky! Well, swanky for Hillhead anyways! lol 🙃
Brad, Famous last words 8:33 😂 Their effort on the scone catchphrase, "Sconnea no dae that" Is a reference to their catchphrase in Chewin The Fat, the comedy sketch show that spawned Still Game.
That's what I love about this show, however much folk slag off Isa, any enemy like her estranged husband mucks her about, he has to answer to the community. 👍
11:37 I only bet on the horses once. Maybe around 1990 on the Grand National in England. I bet on 2 horses, one was called "Roll-A-Joint" which I obviously picked at random. Can't remember the other, I'm sure Google knows but I can't be arsed checking. Anyway, the 2 horses I picked were the 2 that were killed in the race. If I'd chosen that outcome I'd probably be commenting from my yacht! I don't gamble anymore.
Greetings from Glasgow! I LOVE that you guys are reacting to Still Game. Also love that you're picking up the Glaswegian lingo and giving it a go yourselves! Please keep it going 💟
Thank you so so much again folks for doing this for us common people lol can’t wait to see your reactions for season 2 I hope it starts very very soon btw love the editing you could be professional lol thanks again guys the episodes get better & better the more you get into it I no your both going to love it x
Loving watching these, I watch a lot of nonsense on RU-vid and this is by far my favourite thing at the minute. Love Still Game and seeing you guys discover it
You guys are great, maybe its the Scottish-Canadian connection at work! I am from Glasgow, and this show is so very true to life, but it could just as easily be two auld guys in Montreal. I'ts great to see you being nailed by the comedy, and doing well with the accent, "yer bathe guid value fur money" (you're both good value for money) a compliment! subbed : )
have any of you two started saying "thats plenty" when the other one babbles on too long yet? haha also-lucy's face when isa pulled out the vibrator 🤣🤣
I heard in one of your reactions that some people had commented that Still Game was not as good when it came back from a break. There is a small group of people who tell every reaction channel this, and I have no idea why, as the quality of the show never wavers at all. Every reaction channel ends up enjoying all the series, so don't be put off. Still Game is great all the way through.
Out off all the Americans and Canadians reaction of this brilliant StillGame who got a big Scottish following out off them all there's BX Kid then it's You are the best reactions to this show the way ye laugh to all the jokes its brilliant and I love watching StillGame again with Reaction from Canadians cause they seem to catch the Scottish patter quicker just love your two faces your in for a wonderful trip Brad & Lucy just love it love fae Scotland 🏴🏴🏴🏴
Similar fights can occur in Sheffield as to what constitutes a Fishcake! 🤭🤣 What some folk call a "Yorkshire Fishcake" at the Chip Shop is a piece of fish with two slices of potato battered we call a Fishcake. On the other hand what other folk call a Fishcake, Minced fish with Parsley covered in Breadcrumbs that's a Rissole, causes many an argument. Bread roll or Breadcake (Sheffield way of saying it) also causes another argument. 🤣
Lord lucan went missing in the 70s after murdering his children's nanny, i. E Lord Lucan equates to missing in action, when someone shows up out of the blue after a long absence I. E. Isas husband
If you want my opinion, which you don't, you two should skip Series 2 except for the last episode (which sets up a strong start to Series 3). [But I know that you won't do this] By the way, by some miracle the Glaswegians in Still Game ARE UNDERSTANDABLE to the rest of The UK.
