"you got fat belly, you got fat belly..." "I've an underactive thyroid ya prick" God I love Winston, best character in the whole show. He get's some of the best lines.
the song Jack sings is" hurdy gurdy gurdy round the window boxes" it refers to him watering his window plants in his high rise flat. hope that helps. love your reaction to 1st class scottish comedy.
Mate I'm a die hard still game fan brought up on it iv literally watched every episode easy 40 times over.. trust me what your doing with this is the dugs nuts I'm absolutely loving it.. its like watching it for first time all over again.. get yourself some irn bru tunnocks teacakes an some scottish tablet to munch on for next episode... loving these still game vids mate keep it up
For your question at 11:09 - *Hurdy Gurdy Gurdy in the windae boxes* is what jack says, here's the meaning behind it. "Hurdy Gurdy is an old Glasgow song which came about after the building of the blocks of flats that replaced the slums. Hurdy Gurdy was the wind blowing in the window boxes as they no longer had gardens"
Cheers mate, that’s really interesting. My granny was Glaswegian and I still mind her talking about growing up in the tenements. She seemed to have fond memories, though I’m sure it must have been really tough, especially as my family’s Roman Catholic so there were a lot of kids!
I always took it to mean a 'birler' (as in a pail of tea, a board of rolls, a balloon and a birler) being a stick with a wee windmill on it. They usually lasted two or three days before self destructing. One of them in the windae boaxes. I could be wrang. (Is that an eclair or a meringue? Naw, yer right it's an éclair.)
@@Eddycheeee A hurdy gurdy is also the name of a very strange but interesting musical instrument (i used to play one) but I don't think it has anything to do with that.
Hurdy gurdy windi boxes came about from the comedy show "chewing the fat" where Jack and Victor still game came from.... Watch" chewing the fat"👍 there's some great comedy sketches on there👍
It’s great hearing you give your opinion and insight in to the show and real life’s trials and tribulations. I suffer from depression due to having Cervical Dystonia. I take medication that makes me a little less depressed. Obviously the show is only having fun with the medication, but to anyone reading, be careful with anything you take; sometimes can make you worse or you can get bad withdrawals if you have to quit it. Keep up the great work 👊🙂
I enjoy watching different reactors for different reasons but you stand out from most of them with your wonderful observations of humanity. A great reaction as always. I hope your channel keeps on growing. You deserve it.
Glad yer still watching the show lad! When you talk about community and boabby being their 'mate', this is explored MUCH later in the series. Hes a w@nker, but hes their w@nker All best from up the road🏴
Navid said about the cashew nut. Hilarious episode. I agree that it's important to be all you can be and important to be grateful for all the simple things in life. It helps me certainly. Brilliant reaction as always. Thanks 😎
Hurdy Gurdy ... In the windae boxes .... That is Jack who says it quite often in the show. Me nanna used to say it all the time tae I learnt it as a kid
Im so enjoying your reaction to still game, im English, it took me quite a few watches before i got the lingo, im from Yorkshire, we are the same, have our own language, within a language, i love still game, your reactions make me laugh❤️
For some people they can almost be as good as depicted and for others can make things worse. It's not fair. I hate taking tablets and took them for nothing the first 45 years of my life, and until I almost died from an infection nothing stronger than an ibuprofen. Then a couple years later COVID hit, it almost killed me, left me disabled can't walk, in the same boat as winston and extremely depressed. I tried depression tablets nothing worked. They happened to give me a tablet for my chronic neuropathy pain in my legs (yes I get it in a leg that doesn't exist because although the leg isn't there, the nerves that routed to it, the pathways still send signals) and I didn't know it at the time but those pills also are used for depression, and I couldn't understand why it had lifted until I had to go 2 weeks without the gabapentin, and I put 2 and 2 together. It's trying to find something that works for you that is the hard part. Most pills make you feel worse than the symptoms they are treating.
@@NatalieMcCabe-wh6ni Yeah, but they do that whenever they go out, wherever they go. Their main purpose would be the whole adventure the challenge, the day out.
Hey, his voice comes up other places as well, I won't tell you where so you can have that wee bit of joy in discovering it. But they both did accents & that before, you've seen some of Chewin the Fat haven't you? I have thought a couple times now, "He's no noticed who that voice is has he"
27:46 lol... seems a world away now, but up until i want to say the late 90s the sun newspaper always featured naked women on page 3 lol. That was the era of lads mags too.. fhm, maxim etc.. famous and unfamous women half naked, sometimes naked, it seems wild now probably but back then it was just normal 😂 i miss it haha
The auld guy in the library is reading a book called (I think) ‘Living with Cystitis’, cystitis being a kind of urine infection suffered by women that’s commonly associated with having a lot of sex 😂
I've only just noticed. Is that a Birmingham City scarf hung up behind you? Love your Still Game reactions, so I'll not hold it against you lol (Wednesday fan 😢)
Your right about kids now a days no respect, when i was wee if we were cheeky to a grown up and your mam or da found out they would kill you ! well grounded and then after 2 hours of me and ma wee bro going mad in bedroom it would be "you 2 get oot ta play" God i miss the 70s
