I'm a beer league guy and picked these up a few weeks ago. While I can't disagree with anything you're saying about overall impressiveness of the mach supremes, I am pretty happy with the gloves. Like you said, they're light, and for me they offer decent protection for the intensity level I play at. What I really found to be an improvement over the 10 year old pair I was using, was how well the new ones performed late in the game when hands are wet and sweaty. They still feel light and grippy. I know what you mean about the cardboard feeling of the palms but maybe that comes as a cost to dealing with moisture. Great review, great channel. Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words! I always find retail gloves "good enough" until I take an errant puck to the fingers and think "I wish I had the pro stocks on." But for 99% of the time the retail ones are good enough.

Six years ago I bought Bauer 2S Pro skates (customs), pads and gloves. I now have stock True skates which are a huge upgrade, I’m getting some True 9X gloves on discount. T’other stuff seems to be holding up well. Honestly most of the Bauer kit seems fine for casual drop in hockey, apart from the skates which were unacceptable. I think Bauer live off the kudos from supplying most of the NHL. I think people just assume Bauer must be the best. It’s hard to find other brands here, luckily I live near a True dealer, so I have an alternative.

Thanks for doing these comparisons. How do these compare to the ultrasonics in terms of snugness in the wrist and palm area? I've only been playing for a few years, but as much as my hands sweat, I was having trouble finding gloves that were long enough in the fingers but not too loose around my hands. A guy at an out of town store got me to look at the supreme line, and the ultrasonics have been the perfect solution. They seem to keep more heat in because of the fit, but I finally have something that stays in place without feeling like I have to clench my hands all the time. But now I've been looking at finding a backup pair, and our only local store doesn't have much beyond lower-end old stock, so I can't even try things on. I like the protection on the cuff of the ultrasonic, as well as the snug fit. From your review, it seems like the Mach doesn't have the same protection from the cuff, but it does fit the same through the rest of the hand. Is there something else out there that has the same fit and cuff protection as the ultrasonic (or that is even better)?

Nothing will get a cuff similar to this unless you went for an older model of glove with a flex cuff. Covert QRE would be a good comparable to what these are but would be more protective overall. CCM 12K pro stock gloves have an excellent flex cuff, but you'd have to go down a size since they fit 1/2" bigger than retail and that might not work out for your fingers. CCM FT6 Pro have a similar snugness to Supreme gloves, but those have vents in them for better air flow, but you lose the flex cuff. Personally, I'm a fan of just using Evoshield for slash guards (pair them with Cutshield and you get cut resistance as well) so you don't have to worry about the flex cuff. Then you can try different models and get exactly the fit and glove you want.

Do you find the fit consistent with the pro stock ultrasonic vs the retail 2S Pro or Mach?
@HockeyReviews
@HockeyReviews 6 месяцев назад
Yes, fit is consistent but the gusset materials make a difference. So if your fingers are shorter you'll have less issues with retail since they are spandex gussets, whereas some pro stock have nash gussets and don't stretch.

Its crappy bauer is removing stuff from their products to make them lighter, I really noticed it on the Hyperlite 2 pads I demoed . they stripped the back of the pads down so much it doesn't feel or look like a $2000+ pad.

What do you think about the bauer hyperlite gloves? Same story?
@HockeyReviews

Never looked at Hyperlite sorry. Vapor have gotten worse since the 1X Pro, I am sure the outer plate helps but the fingers will still be disappointing.

is there much of a difference between the m5 pro glove and the mach?

Unfortunately I haven't seen the M5 Pro so I can't say.

Which would you recommend, this or the Vapor Hyperlites?
@HockeyReviews
@HockeyReviews 4 месяца назад
Neither... you can get pro stocks for considerably cheaper than these and they are miles better. Or if you are stuck with retail every other brand makes a better top end glove.

It’s really sad to see how most companies are doing the bare minimum for protection now. We’ve been seeing it more and more as prices only continue to increase. All the companies have also shifted away from making more protective helmets to instead make them so they just pass the HECC’s certification test. I really wouldn’t be surprised to see CCM phase out D30 at some point in the future now as well since they see Bauer getting rid of all their outsourced materials and still profiting.

I am going to disagree with a LOT of what you are saying, besides with Bauer itself. True, CCM, Warrior, and Sherwood have all made improvements on their gloves and still make solid gloves where cost cutting isn't really noticeable or relevant. CCM has been using MORE expensive materials, specifically with NestTech and D3O is still prevalent in their retail gloves. Jetspeed loosing D3O isn't a huge loss since the amount they used on retail gloves was negligible to begin with. I would also disagree with the "away from making more protective helmets." Everyone always brings up the VTech ratings, but ignoring how VTech doesn't "fit" their tests or try different helmet fits, they just go by the "range" recommend and will go with the larger fit helmet in the range. Companies have proven they can get good scores in the VTech side of things, then decided to continue to use their test and results instead of fitting just to VTech. When I was fitting kids for helmets, very few actually fit into an FL500. So even though it gives the best VTech score... if the helmet doesn't fit why would I ever recommend it. It would be nice to see how well the high scoring helmets on VTech do for internal testing vs the lower scoring ones from VTech. But we will never see that.

@@HockeyReviews valid points however I do have some info that some helmets recently have been created that just barely scrape by the approval process. The fit of a helmet is very important, but the right padding needs to be present as well. Bauer has been the biggest problem with this as they have quietly removed foam pieces from helmets later in their lifecycles (I saw this firsthand with ReAkt 75 helmets having less foam pieces on later production runs. I will agree with you that CCM has done a good job with the Tacks line and it’s very clear that True and Sherwood have put a lot of resources into r&d. I’m just worried when these other companies see Bauer cutting costs and not seeing a drop in sales from the majority of consumers, they will follow suit. Hoping I’m wrong and Bauer loses even more ground than they have been recently but I’m doubtful

Mach gloves are terrible for the price point. Comfy, yes. But they feel like $50 gloves
