Mens league starting back up and I'm looking for a new pair of mitts. I'm looking for something with a lot of mobility. After looking through some reviews, these seem like a solid pair. I've also checked out your review for the STX Halo pair which look interesting to say the least. Which would you recommend? FYI I'm coming from Warrior Alpha DX Hockey Gloves (2021) which I didn't really like...a bit stiff to me. Before that I had a pair of Bauer Supreme One.8 Hockey Gloves (2015) that I liked once broken in.
I always suggest going pro stock. The CCM HG12 and HGJS (also called Jetspeed) are REALLY good and even better than retail gloves. But if you have to go with a retail option, 9X are solid and FT4 Pro are solid as well. If you want a tighter fit go Jetspeed, if you want a bit looser go these.
@@HockeyReviews So I partially took your advice and went for pro stock 9X's. Haven't had a game yet, but just messing around in the garage - they feel awesome. Great mobility all round, especially for being "out of the box." Another positive feel is in the wrist - I'm finding these give zero restriction. Thanks a ton!!
Just bought a pair of these after scouring through my local shop. It feels like a leap of faith going away from the tried and true brands. Had some second thoughts when I got home and after watching your video I know I made the right choice. These gloves feel great, and I will let True know how I feel about them once I get them on the ice (name dropping you of course). Great review! 👍 It is great to see such an in depth comparison, the comparison to previous models, and talking about them next to competitor models.
I'd have to agree on the sizing, I wear 14 Bauer and CCM, and 13 Warrior, (I work in the industry and get to try them all) and I decided to go with a 14 in this 9x catalyst. when I first tried them on "all the way" it felt perfect but once I actually used them with my hands more relaxed it definitely feels a bit big, it also lost its snug feeling and vastly loosened up all over the glove in general from playing/breaking them in, so my hands have to stay curled at this point to keep them on. I also do have a pair of 7x catalyst gloves next to me Ina 14, which aren't really used and feel a lot tighter, I'm sure they will end up the same as the 9x after breaking them in. one of the best quality gloves no doubt and looks super clean but the sizing is definitely a concern.
Don't have any of these locally to try on... love to try these out based on the look, features and construction, but would you agree that if I like the more snug fit like that in a Jetspeed or Supreme (have thinner hands/fingers), these aren't the right gloves for me?
@@HockeyReviews Appreciate the response though - I'll look more towards the Jetspeed line. Thanks for all the good content you publish - these are great
I picked up a pair of these. I have 13” in Bauer and Warrior, these felt much tighter so I went with 14”. Finger length is similar to other brands, maybe a tad shorter. They are in the UK much cheaper than comparable Bauer gloves.
Tried them on in the store yesterday. They have a very nice feel. Ultimately I went with the Warrior LX pros instead. Haven’t got much trust in True’s equipment yet. ( other then skates) When are you doing the Warrior lx pro gloves and stick?
I feel like it should be pretty obvious what slurs and comments I am referring to. I am not going to repeat them here. If you want to further educate yourself you can look up homophobia on Wikipedia.
