What is it about the 80's power ballads that fills up my soul in a way that NO other music can do? When I listen to them, it feels like they reach into my very core, grab ahold, and don't let go till the song is over. The music of today can't even come close to comparing to this music!
ere ... as a middle aged bloke from lancs northern England ... a can say .. after a reyt gud day out at Blackpool late 86 ... this song . . and a bit of Newky Brown Ale...welll ... I became a Man .. ; )
Well my true love has been gone for over 30 years. You will find that she will not be forgotten but the pain of loosing a true love will lessen over time. There will be songs that will bring back the memories of a lost love and I think that will never change. For all the tough guys out there is a lesson to learn that one day you will regret things said once you understand that you lost a soul mate over pride. I often wonder if my lost love is happy with her current life????.
avevo 13 anni cioè 1983 qwando ascoltando questi bravi musicisti in un letto di una casa vascia insaporavo la vita assieme a della carne bionda francese che bellissimo momento e che bella la francia
The year 1984 and the Scorpions song Still Loving You...a PURE hard rock/heavy metal power ballad that was copied by everyone for the rest of the 80's. A love song that builds into a crescendo of hard rock...that's what it is all about. Also check out the Scorpions song "You and I" - great ballad. I agree with wiffsofsmoke - Steelheart Never Let You Go is another pure hard rock power ballad, along with Everybody Loves Eileen. Some songs do not meet the criteria...but for the 'Pure' power ballad by definition, look no further than Still Loving You by the Legendary Scorpions.
My top 5 break up balads of the 80's #1: Still Loving You-Scorpions #2: Alone Again-Dokken #3: Don't Know What You've Got Til It's Gone-Cinderella #4: Save Your Love - Great White #5: Headed For A Heartbreak-Winger Put together you can cry yourself a river and smoke a pack of cigarettes while drinking yourself into oblivion after a bad breakup....Done it once...Sucked.
This would be a great song to listen to, but "this author does not allow playback on iPhone". What the hell is that for? I would like to know how that has any benefit to me or the author.
@knoxunflower1 You're wrong. You can bring back the 80s, but not by sitting around saying "lets bring back the 80s!" It would require a massive, coordinated marketing effort, with a set plan of action and divisions of key influencers placed at strategic points. I'm a marketing executive and business administrator. Trust me. It *can* happen, but it would require a serious coordinated and focused effort from more than 1 position, following a preconceived strategy.
