Acts of hate on campus. Violations of the university code of conduct. Symbols that glorify Hamas terrorism hanging at encampments. Still no one suspended or expelled for any of this.
Universities have allowed this sentiment to fester over decades. The light is shining on the disparaging crumbling of these institutions. Not enrolling into their programs is one way of fighting the war on common sense.

Why not enforce removal of those signs? Isn’t that a part of hate speech that Trudeau is so used to preaching about. The law in Canada has to get its teeth back.
Canada’s laws have teeth when it suits the government (against truckers, against people who didn’t want vaccination, against people who don’t want drag queens “reading” to children, etc.). This government has destroyed the meaning of law.

I will translate for your viewers who are not up to speed with the current state: Canadian Universities are intentionally becoming less appealing to Canadian residents so that they may grant more seats to foreign students who are delegated to pay more. Speaking from experience as I have recently become aware of the non-refundable application fee. Canadian education opportunities being sold to the highest bidder.
We've asked - how about you start telling? These students are acting liked spoiled brats throwing a tantrum, someone needs to step up and start acting like adults here. Tell them they have 24 hours to clear out or they are expelled, then call the police to have these former students removed. This is insane already.
law enforcement will clear out and tear down a homeless encampment with a few hour's notice and sometimes with none. Step up and give them a deadline to clear the encampment. Resistance = arrest and charges and perhaps expulsion. There are so many that are not students or who are not Cdn citiz. The univ has protocols for no encampments so enforce them. There are so many who are not even Cdns so why do they have the same rights as Cdns? Stop bringing your hate and problems to our country. Mr. T is planning to charge cdns with imprisonment if we could be 'suspected' of speaking hate speech or perhaps maybe in the future commit a hate crime..... why are these students given such liberties?
Laws should be adhered to or appropriate legal consequences should be implemented, right away. The encampment should have been removed the same day it was set up. This president is spineless and appears scared of the racists...he has no excuse for allowing this to happen. I think any university that allows hate speech and occupation should have their presidents fired.

There is a Jewish student taking Harvard to court over the pro-Hamas situation. Canadian students should launch a class action against Canadian universities. Their safety and freedom are threatened.
Shame on Canadian unions who are supporting the protests. No one has the right to break the law and trespass on land that is not theirs. Do these Unions support the attacks on the Jewish community? Union members pay union dues to help fight for better wages and safer work places not to protect illegally encamped protesters. Union members who stand in the way of law enforcement from doing their job should be fired. Union member for 33 years and I say we need to stand with the Jewish community which is actually being attacked by these modern day Nazi's. All Canadians should feel safe in Canada and the haters should be shown the door.

Weak leadership at the university... one phone call to police directing occupiers to leave, as per trespass order, clears it all up... if Toronto Police fails to act, then the police service boars replaces the leadership and / or have them charges with misconduct for breach of duty.

Ms. Lantsman, to say that Universities have only now become a place for "hate" is a bit disingenuous. I remember a night on the Mac Campus circa 1988 when I was walking alone from the pub to a residence when a group of about 8 white male undergrads started following at a short distance and taunted me with jungle-noises. Hatred for visible minorities has always been rampant on campuses, often with very little means for effective recourse.
The president of the university says that people were suspended for acts violating campus policies, and that others -- those in the encampment who violate those policies -- are under investigation, and may be suspended. No one has been suspended for hanging a red triangle, no.
Human Rights spawned this monster where there is no accountability for anything. In the name of rights anything goes and there are no guardrails. Starting with some guardrails around e.g. protection of life from natural conception to deafh would set a high moral standard and clarity, that would bring about, by extension accountability to matters like this one. Otherwise it's a mentality of anything goes which is the case here.
So many of the apologists for Israel are suggesting the old Dixie "outside agitator" charge. Open expressions of hatred by the apologists is treated as ok.
Frustrating as it is, following the rule law is a laborious process that needs to done to reach a decision that cannot be challenged. Or, properly speaking, can be successfully defended if the university is taken to court over any decisions they make in dealing with the encampment. Although, if the police can verify someone is NOT a student or faculty member they should be charged with illegal trespass and legally barred from the university grounds and/or property.

With my very low expectations of the UofT President, he came across with some reasonable statements and he would not bend the knee. I agree due process needs to take place with suspensions and expelling students. But with the encampment Trespass notices should have been done on day 2 and police could then have laid charges and removed the encampment immediately.
Amazing that there is no one need to take responsibility for their own actions and none of these actions has any consequences. What does this show us? You don’t get to be accountable for any wrongdoing? But if you are protesting for our charter of rights and freedoms, we will be prosecuted
